3. ResearchStrengths:
• For the four games that I had done research on, I
went into detailon different aspects on each game
like gameplay, audience appeal and the development
of each game to help me understand how I can
create and improve my game

Weaknesses:
• For the audience research, I couldn't get many
people to help me out with my research
• For the subject research, I only used one example for

• For the last two games in my research, Final Fantasy
7 and Megaman, I could not go into as much detail as
the first two games, Super Mario Bros and Sonic.exe
due to not being able to gain as much information
about the games compared to Mario and Sonic.exe
To Improve:
• Focus more on first-hand research rather than second-hand research by creating more surveys and sending more
out to more people to get the farthest range of answers
• Use more examples for subject research to get a better understand how certain parts of different products work

• Instead of planning massive ideas and not implementing them into the game, causing me to
slow down and do worse on my project come up with smaller, easier ideas and build up on

Strengths:
• I spent each day working through my
project and improving it over time
• The time I spent in college was used
working on the project while my time
at home was used to work on the
development diary entries each day

• Because I had been helping another
student with their product, I didn't
spend as much time to develop my
product as I would've liked
To Improve:
• Try to spend more time working on my own FMP instead of helping other
students with theirs so the final project could've been improved more

What did you like about the product?
• I enjoyed the music and artwork in the animation, the music fit well in terms of
the pixel style and reminded me a lot of Undertale.
• The quality of most of the artwork is also very detailed, mainly the logos at the
selection screen and the Jack playable character, and clearly references popular
pixel designs such as Scott Pilgrim.
• I also liked how fluid the animation was as well as slow in order to mirror past pixel
style games
What improvements could have been made to the product?
• I didn't enjoy how the music cut out and then another piece resumed after too
long of a pause as well as the lack of sound effects, such as selection noises,
shooting noises etc, which may have enhanced the animation and made it more
believable gameplay.

• The running animation on Jack (or Sean, if you prefer) is very nice
• I appreciate the choice of music that you chose to remix for this project
• The pixel art model of Jack is simple but pleasing to the eye. Very Scott Pilgrim-y
