OF E-LEARNING
BY: Rosemarie P Buluran
BSCS 4
Introduction
• As a result of COVID- 19 outbreak. Colleges and Universities
around the globe are shifting to online learning as a replace of for
campus delivery. As a result, education has changed dramatically,
with the distinctive rise of E- learning , whereby teaching is
undertaken remotely and digital platform
What is E-learning??
• A e-learning system based on formalized teaching but with the help of
electronic resources is known as E-learning while teaching can be based I or
out of the classrooms, the use of computers and the internet forms the
major components of E- learning can also be termed as a network enabled
transfer of skill and knowledge , and the delivery of education is made to a
large number of recipients at the same or different times.
Features of E-learning
 E-learning is dynamic today in the era of globalization, it helps in availing
the online experts
 E- learning is individual i.e centered across the learner and personalized to
the individual
 E-learning operates 24*7 days
 E-learning is comprehensive
 It is network assisted and often learning is done within the fraction of time
Blend of learning methods such as virtual classroom, simulation, community
and even a classroom
Synchronous E-learning
• Synchronous e learning and teaching takes places real time while the trainer
and learners are physically separated from each other.
• Example include:
1 listening to a live radio broadcast 4 Internet telephony
2 watching live a television broadcast 5 Online lectures
3 audio/video conferencing 6 two-way live satellite broadcast
Asynchronous E- learning
• Asynchronous learning is the fact that the trainer prepares the courseware material before
the course takes place. The learner is free to decide when he wants to study the courseware
• In other words Asynchronous e –learning where people are not online at same time and
interaction does not occur without a time delay, allowing people to participate n their
schedules.
• Examples include
 Self paced course taken via internet or CD-ROM
 videotaped classes
 Recorded audio tapes
 Q&A mentoring
 Reading- email
Importance of
• In the word of browsing and log in, todays learners want self- paced relevant
mobile and relevant personalized content that is achived by e-learning.
 Accommodate every ones need
 Smart learning
 Eco friendly
 Unlimited Repetition of lectures
 Updated Content
Quick delivery cycle
 Saves time and energy
 Scalable & consistent
 Cost-effectiveness
Impact of
• The result of incorporating e-learning into the education sector have helped to
increase IT skills in the student. With the majority of business now operating as
digital workplaces, e- learning is becoming an increasing norm effectively and
efficiently delivering education. E-learning has revolutionized learning in the
workplace for a number of years , improving efficiencies, workflow and
collaboration. The flexibility offered by e-learning and time of learning means that
whole education programmed can be rolled out across teams all over the world.
Within the education sector , e-learning has been used within the education, from
primary to university education, to deliver impactful courses that are fun and
engaging.
Impacts of e-learning
 Students ability to study on their own has increased their
critical thinking skills
 it also enabling students to be able not only to rely on
textbook information but to expand their knowledge by
researching using the world ide web
Impacts of e-learning
 It has brought about the feeling of self responsibility among student where
thy have to account to themselves when they decide to study or not
Challenges of e-learning
There, are however, challenges to overcome, some students without reliable
internet access and or technology struggle to participate in digital learning ; this
gap is seen across countries. Due to the pandemic crisis has been a huge
disruptive shift from existing educational system to online education system. An
online course requires detailed lesson plans to ood study plans to study materials.
Commonproblemsencounterofstudent
• ADAPTABILITY STRUGGLE- switching classroom to computer based
training virtual classroom –based makes the learning experience entirely
different for the student
• TECHNICAL ISSUES- many student are not provided with the high
bandwidth or to strong internet connection that online course require
connection that online course require. And thus fail to catch up with their
virtual classes.
• COMPUTER LITERACY- although students are generally tech savvy, and
thus able to manage computers well, lack of computers literacy is a major
issue among students today.
• TIME MAAGEMENT- is a difficult task for e learnes, as onine course
require a lot of time and intensive work
• SELF-MOTIVATION- self motivation in learning essential requirements;
however many online learners lack it, much to their surprise.
Disadvanae or challenges Faced
1. The lack of learners motivation
2. Learners cant se the real world implications of the e learning course
3. Slow or unreliable internet connections can be frustrating
4. Material Incompatibility
-Don’t worry about paying attention
Advantages of e learning
 Online learning accommodate every one needs
 Lectures can be taken any number of times
 Offers access to update content
 Quick delivery lesson
 Scalability
 Consistency
Advantages of e learning
 Reduced cost
 Effectiveness
conclusion
E learning is not replace conventional
methods and learning classroom. It is to
create an augmented learning where
technology is used t deliver a combined
range of teaching and learning techniques
aimed at maximizing the individual
participation and achieving the goals in the
learning and teaching process as a
greener world.
THANK YOU SO MUCH
