CCW Course Syllabus
HOSTILE CONTROL TACTICS is listed in the Central Contractor Registry of the Department of
Defense as approved provider of Anti-terrorism Force Protection) training to the United States
government. Between 2003 and today, literally thousands of elite security specialist from around
the world have undergone HCT training prior to overseas deployment in support of the war on
terrorism.
It is mandatory in most US states that persons interested in a Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW)
permit first undergo a minimum of 8 hours up to 16 hours of firearms instruction specifically tailored
to comply with individual state CCW training requirements.
Only after completing state approved CCW firearms training and
passing a background investigation will a permit/license will be
issued by the state where you submit application. Requirements
vary from state to state and within different counties of each
state. Be sure to check with you state authorities before enrolling
in this course.
This CCW course is held every Monday and
Saturday*unless specifically informed otherwise.

COURSE DESCRIPTION
This one day, eight (8) hour course offers comprehensive instruction and coaching aimed at
helping the gun owner become proficient at high stress, “run and shoot”, “shoot and move” real
world engagements utilizing the pistol as the primary weapon.
Attendees must be moderately physically fit as the course will place a demand on physical and
mental energy reserves.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
The objective of this course is to deliver a level of high quality, comprehensive and in-depth firearms
training that by far exceeds the minimum requirements to a gain a Concealed Weapon Carry Permit
in over 32 US states.
The states Utah and Florida CCW Permit will allow an individual to carry in; Alabama, Alaska,
Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky,
Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New
Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Tennessee,
Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
CCW classes are typically 8-to-16 hours in length which means, the class can be completed in one
day. In some instances over a two-day weekend. CCW renewal requires 4-8 hours of refresher
training.
You must be fingerprinted as part of the state required background check. Also, bring two
(2) passport sized photos.
LESSON PLAN CONTENT
Curriculum addresses the legal and practical aspects of carrying a concealed handgun.
Instruction covers the following topics:
o State law pertaining to CCW (Utah, Florida, New York, Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia,
Georgia and California)
o Legal justification for deadly use of force
o Less-than-lethal force
o Firearm safe handling, storage, and maintenance
o Proper draw an holstering techniques
o Holstering and drawing from concealment
o Concealment methods
o Situational awareness
o Practical shooting techniques
o Hasty and tactical reloading
o Malfunction clearing
o Close quarters marksmanship
o Holding suspects at gunpoint
o Equipment selection
o Post-shooting trauma
o Interacting with officers and witnesses
o “Qualify” with the firearm which you wish to identify on your state issued permit

TARGET AUDIENCE
Male or females adults ages 21 to 65.
CLASS CAPACITY
Maximum class seating capacity of fifteen (15) with an instructor to student ratio of 1-to-10. A
minimum of 10 students must be enrolled and paid in full for the scheduled class date. If the
minimum attendance number is not met you will be notified and rescheduled for the next course.
PACKING LIST
Bring very comfortable loosing fitting clothing suitable for rigorous outdoor events (i.e. polo shirts,
long sleeve sports shirts, blue jeans, 5.11 style cargo pants are ideal).
o A laptop computer is not mandatory, but will prove be helping in academic portions.
o Tactical Belt or Strong Belt Suitable for Your Holster
o Baseball type cap/hat
o Eye protection, ear protection
o Knee pads and elbow pads (optional)
o Note pad, ink pens and/or a laptop computer
o Sunscreen and insect repellent
o Water hydration system (Camelbak® or similar)
o Shooting gloves
++The weapon you intend to use on the permit must be used during the course. You may
list up to three handguns per permit and must qualify with each during the course. *Be
sure to properly pack, ship and transport all firearms and ammunition in accordance state and
federal law.
NOTICE FOR CALIFORNIA STATE RESIDENTS
In California, individuals must apply to the licensing authority in their jurisdiction (a sheriff or head
of a municipal police department) in the city or county where they reside.
CCW Permits issue by the states of Utah, Nevada and Florida DO NOT allow you to carry a
concealed firearm within the State of California. “Reciprocity” or Recognition of Permits from
State to State is a complex issue, HCT staff cannot and will not give legal advice.
