RICE UNIVERSITY MERIT-BASED SCHOLARSHIPS
Rice's small size allows personal interaction between students and
professors, while our eminent faculty foster the intellectual excitement of a
major research university. At Rice, undergraduates at all levels participate in
cutting-edge research with world-class faculty in the humanities, social
sciences, engineering and natural sciences. Premier architecture and music professors enhance
classroom experiences with their exceptional talent and artistry. A Rice education offers personal

Merit-based scholarship recipients generally distinguish themselves scholastically and personally
even within our highly competitive group of admitted students. All admitted freshman applicants are
automatically considered for merit-based scholarships, so that no separate application forms or
interviews are necessary. The Office of Admissions notifies scholarship winners at the time of
admission to the university.

MOUNT HOLYOKE COLLEGE MERIT-BASED SCHOLARSHIPS
As the first of the Seven Sisters—the female equivalent of the once
predominantly male Ivy League—Mount Holyoke has led the way in
women's education. A model upon which many other women's colleges
were patterned, it quickly became synonymous with brilliant teaching and
academic excellence. Located in South Hadley, Massachusetts, Mount Holyoke is 90 minutes west

POINT PARK UNIVERSITY CINEMA AND DIGITAL ARTS MERIT-BASED
SCHOLARSHIPS
Located in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh, one of the United States'
most livable and film production vibrant cities, Point Park University and the Department of Cinema
and Digital Arts offers an immersive, hands-on education in professional film and media
production, animation & visual effects and screenwriting. We equip students with the technical and
aesthetic skills necessary to compete in today's global media industries. Students have the
opportunity to produce films, develop digital production projects and write scripts and teleplays
starting year one through year four in a real-world production environment. When students leave
our programs, they have all the tools and know-how needed to survive and thrive in their chosen
field.
Full-time, traditional undergraduate FRESHMEN or TRANSFER students are eligible for
scholarships. Candidates will have demonstrated high caliber of artistic ability through the artistic
audition process and/or a personal interview. Candidates' intended major must be dance, theatre
arts, cinema production, digital arts or screenwriting. No separate application required.

KEUKA COLLEGE MERIT-BASED SCHOLARSHIPS
Keuka College was founded in 1890 and is located on the shore of
Keuka Lake in New York state’s Finger Lakes region. Keuka is a private,
undergraduate and graduate, residential college that also offers
bachelor’s degree completion and master’s degree programs through its
Accelerated Studies for Adults Program and international programs in China and Vietnam.
International students are eligible for Keuka College scholarships based on submission of a
completed application. Qualifying students may be awarded $4,000 to $15,000 per year.

GRAND VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY MERIT-BASED SCHOLARSHIPS
Allendale, Michigan is home to Grand Valley's main campus, established
in 1960, situated on 1,304 acres 12 miles west of Grand Rapids. The 38-
acre Robert C. Pew Campus in the heart of Grand Rapids is comprised of
two separate sites with a total of 11 buildings including the Cook-DeVos
Center for Health Sciences (CHS), John C. Kennedy Hall of Engineering,
and the new L. William Seidman Center. Classes are also offered in the
Meijer Campus in Holland, and at our regional locations in Muskegon and Traverse City.
Grand Valley State University is proud to offer academic-based competitive scholarships to
qualified international applicants. Available to both undergraduate and graduate applicants, these
scholarships were established to recognize the high level of academic achievement of students
coming to our campus from around the world. International applicants must submit all required
items for admission by May 1 to be considered for a scholarship. Scholarships are only available

UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS AT URBANA-CHAMPAIGN ATHLETIC
SCHOLARSHIPS
Since its founding in 1867, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign has
earned a reputation as a world-class leader in research, teaching, and public
engagement. A talented and highly respected faculty is the University’s most
significant resource. Many are recognized for exceptional scholarship with
memberships in such organizations as the American Academy of Arts and
Sciences, the National Academy of Sciences, and the National Academy of Engineering. Our faculty
have been awarded Nobel Prizes, Pulitzer Prizes, and the Fields Medal in Mathematics.The success
of our faculty is matched by that of our alumni: 11 are Nobel laureates and another 18 have won
Pulitzer Prizes.
The UIUC Avery Brundage Scholarship is designed for students who demonstrate excellence both
in academic pursuits and in amateur athletic endeavors. Financial need is not a factor. Full-time
graduate students in good standing with a "special athletic ability" in an amateur sport are eligible.
Previous winners have represented a wide variety of sports from archery and tennis to swimming
and wheelchair basketball.

THE NEW SCHOOL FOR SOCIAL RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS
The New School for Social Research provides an education grounded in
history and informed by a legacy of critical thought and civic engagement.
The school’s dedication to academic freedom and intellectual inquiry
reaches back to the university’s founding in 1919 as a home for progressive thinkers and the
creation of the University in Exile in 1933 for scholars persecuted in Nazi Europe. The
interdisciplinary education offered by The New School for Social Research today explores and
promotes global peace and justice as more than theoretical ideals. The New School for Social
Research is a second home for students from a variety of geographical, cultural, economic, and
political backgrounds. It enrolls more than 1,000 students from all regions of the United States and
from more than 70 countries. Here, civic engagement begins in the classroom. Seminar-style
classes facilitate mutual respect and intellectual rigor and take advantage of the school’s diversity
and location in New York City.
A limited number of prize fellowships are provided to incoming doctoral students with distinguished
records. Prize fellowships provide full tuition and a monthly stipend intended to allow recipients to
devote themselves full time to their program of study. The fellowships are renewable for up to three
years subject to annual review.

UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS SCHOOL OF LAW HELPS ACCELERATE YOUR
LAW DEGREE COMPLETION
The University of Arkansas School of Law offers one of the lowest tuition rates
at approximately $12000 per semester for international students. Among the
benefits offered to accelerated candidates, is the ability to transfer in a number
of credits from a student’s previous legal coursework outside of the U.S. into
their Juris Doctor program, thus "accelerating" the time required to finish their
degree. In addition, successful completion of the Juris Doctor degree will satisfy the degree
requirement for eligibility to sit for the bar examination in any state in the U.S. The University of
Arkansas School of Law does not require an LSAT score.
The Accelerated J.D. for Foreign-Trained Lawyers at The University of Arkansas School of Law is
now accepting applications for the 2013-2014 academic year.

VIRGINIA INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY HOLDS GRADUATION
REPRESENTING OVER 50 COUNTRIES
Virginia International University’s mission is to educate students from all
over the world through a highly qualified, equally diverse faculty and staff
while striving to provide academic programs that engender the intellectual
curiosity, critical thinking, and creativity urgently needed in the global
community.
Virginia International University is graduating over 120 international students at its graduation
ceremony for international students. There will be students from around 50 countries graduating.
Major countries include Mongolia, India, Thailand, Morocco, Nigeria and Nepal. The event will be

ONLINE LEGAL ENGLISH CLASS FOR FOREIGN LAWYERS
Washington University School of Law’s mission is to be the best place in

outstanding research and providing service to the world; and to be a
school structured around the most current and important ideas bearing upon the law. It offers
students a great legal education in an intellectually challenging and collegial environment. Our
faculty members are recognized for their excellent teaching and scholarship, and they are highly
accessible to our students. The law school’s curriculum blends traditional theory and opportunities
to participate in a wide variety of lawyering skills courses and co-curricular activities in St. Louis,

Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, Missouri, has begun offering a ground-breaking
course in Legal English to help international legal practitioners develop the skills needed to conduct

travel to the United States for an extended stay.

Keuka is a private, undergraduate and graduate, residential college that also offers bachelor’s degree completion and master’s degree programs through its Accelerated Studies for Adults Program and international programs in China and Vietnam. UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS SCHOOL OF LAW HELPS ACCELERATE YOUR LAW DEGREE COMPLETION The University of Arkansas School of Law offers one of the lowest tuition rates at approximately $12000 per semester for international students.
