Exploring the Indicators of Anger Management Problem on Teens and Its Suggested Solutions. | DanicaAdona | Myles Ebuen | |Katrina Quiambao | Angela Rivera |
Chapter 1 (Introduction) Background of the Study Because of our fast paced world, people are more prone to feeling pressure or stress, which often times lead to stronger emotions. The teenagers in society are the people to witness the new generation of a world filled with technology. With this, a lot of changes has been made with regards to the attitude or people, specifically on their studies and other aspects on a teenager’s life. Anger is a strong emotion. It may have a lot of negative results in a teenager’s life. It may even cause injury or death, which is why the study of this emotion is very timely. The goal for this study is to justify anger, its meaning, its causes, the problems related to it and finally, the possible solutions to these problems.
Chapter 1 (Introduction) Theoretical Framework This research paper is based from two theories: 1. Psychosocial Theory Related to Anger (Jaffari) >The way a person releases is anger is different from another person. This comes from the fact that every person in this world has his own background or life story which may have affected his emotions. 2. Build Up-Blow Up Theory(Hightower) >If a person just lets his anger build up inside him, it would then be more harmful for that person if he releases it, since the emotion has already built up inside him, ergo intensifying the anger he feels.
Chapter 1 (Introduction) Conceptual Framework
Chapter 1 (Introduction) Problem Statement Basically, this study sought to answer the following questions: What are the variables to determine teenager anger? Peer pressure Family problems Social relationships Academic problems What are the immediate actions taken by teenagers when feeling angry? What are the possible solutions for the problems of teenagers on managing anger? What actions should be taken by the people surrounding the teenager experiencing this emotion?
Chapter 1 (Introduction) Scope and Delimitation For this research paper, the researchers will be conducting researches on different libraries for a lot of information regarding the topic. For the survey questionnaires to be distributed, the respondents were the high school students of St. Scholastica’s Academy of Marikina. Ten survey questionnaires was distributed per year level, except the fourth year students of the said institution, wherein 20 survey questionnaires were distributed. The choosing of the respondents was done randomly, and the researchers did not consider the background or personality of the teenager even though they are equipped with the knowledge that this are possible factors on how a teenager manages his anger.
Chapter 2 (Review of Related Literature and Studies) Understanding Ourselves by Joseph D. Norshpitz (1964) Man and His Nature by Royce (1961) Filipino Anger- Roces (1985)
Chapter 3 (Research Design and Methodology) Methods of Research Used The design employed by the researchers in order to know the purpose of this study is the descriptive method, specifically the status studies which intend to present facts concerning the nature and status of persons, conditions, system of thought, etc., which the researchers intend to focus on.
Chapter 3 (Research Design and Methodology) Sources of Data Respondents: The high school students of St. Scholastica’s Academy Markina. 10 students per year, except the 4th year wherein 20 survey questionnaires were given. Age: 12-17 years old.
Chapter 3 (Research Design and Methodology) Data Gathering Instruments Questionnaire: >50 survey questionnaires all in all >10 questionnaires from 1st-3rd year, 20 questionnaires for the Seniors. > Respondents were given 10-13 minutes to answer > Types of questions: Documentary Analysis: >Books regarding anger, psychology, human emotions and feelings, and anger management were used by the researchers to come up with the survey form. Unstructured Interview:
Chapter 3 (Research Design and Methodology) Data Gathering Procedure The researchers were the one to make the survey forms so it did not really require any permission whatsoever from any authority, however, the questionnaire was carefully revised at least 3 times by the researcher’s teacher, to be able to achieve the maximum results possible for this survey. All the drafts for the survey forms were submitted to the teacher in charge, and all were patiently corrected by the teacher until the researchers, with the help of their teacher, has arrived at the best survey form which would really help them in the success of their study.

Chapter 5(Summary, Conclusions and Recommendations) Anger, according to the research conducted in this thesis, is one of the most common emotions that a teenager experience especially when they get pressured or stressed out. The major purpose of this study was to determine how teenagers deal with their anger. This study also identified the actions that teenagers do when they experience anger. Specifically, this study was undertaken to be able give meaning to what is anger for teenagers, its usual causes and it’s possible solutions, not just for the teenagers themselves, but the people who may be involved.
Chapter5(Summary, Conclulsions and Recommendations) Scope, Purpose and Methodology This study involved 50 respondents which consisted of the high school students of St. Scholastica’s Academy of Marikina. Ten survey questionnaires were distributed to each level, but the researchers have distributed more questionnaires to the seniors because they believe that the seniors are more prone to being emotional especially anger. The main source of the data gathered by the researchers was the questionnaire which consisted of 15 questions, filling up two pieces of bond papers. The estimated time given to them were about 13 to 14 minutes. The The data that the researchers had gathered tells the reason for becoming angry, things that can help cope from being angry, and who to tell your emotion. The researchers have gotten the average, since they have gotten the percentage of the answers for each question.
Chapter5(Summary, Conclulsions and Recommendations) Conclusions With the proper analysis of anger, a person can attain a proper coping skills with it. A person who is angry should share what she feels to other people by opening to lessen the burden she feels. This is based from the distributed survey questionnaire; opening up to other people ranked number one on how teenagers usually deal with this emotion. . The researchers can say that many students prefer to have more space to control anger. Many students said that failure is the main reason why they get anger easily.
Chapter5(Summary, Conclulsions and Recommendations) Recommendations: For the students: Upon experiencing the feeling of being angry, teenagers are proven to feel better by (1)getting some space, (2)being alone with yourself and just crying your heart out, (3)simply by praying. For the parents: The best things for a parent can do is to just support their child, especially when they experience failure. Parents should make them feel better, not worse by not saying things which would only put the person down more. For the guidance counselors and teachers: For the guidance counselors and teachers, they should guide the students in such a way that they would not tell them directly of his failures, and by being a friend to them by allowing their students to open up to them since that is an effective way of coping with anger.
Chapter5(Summary,Conclusions and Recommendations) Recommendations: For the future researchers: For the improvement and betterment of this study regarding anger, it would be better if the future researchers would consider having a bigger range on the respondents, for them to be able to have more accurate results. It would also be better if they focus on another age group, to be able to find solutions for other generations to. But in case they chose to focus on teenagers or students again, it would be best if they just improve on the questionnaire by providing more choices, and it would also be better if they would also conduct surveys on the parents, guidance counselors and the teachers.
