1. MAKING A CHANGE
INTRODUCTION TO CONSTITUTION OF INDIA
The Constitution of India is the supreme law of India. It lays down the framework
defining fundamental political principles, establishes the structure, procedures,
powers, and duties of government institutions, and sets out fundamental rights,
directive principles, and the duties of citizens. It is the longest written constitution
of any sovereign country in the world, containing 444 articles in 22 parts, 12
schedules and 118 amendments.
The Constitution is federal in nature. Each State and each Union territory of India
have their own government. Analogues to President and Prime Minister, is the
Governor in case of States, Lieutenant Governor for Union territories and the Chief
Minister. The 73rd and 74th Amendment Act also introduced the system of
Panchayati raj in villages and municipalities.
2. POSITIVE POINTS OF INDIAN ELECTORAL BODY
It is a part of largest democratic country in world
Everyone has the right to vote and choose their own representative
Anyone can stand for the election irrespective of social position
Reservation for women to empower their status
3. NEGATIVE POINTS OF ELECTORAL BODY
People with criminal charges can also compete in elections
Use of Money and Muscle power
Hierarchical Leaders
Most of the power is with central Leaders
Political parties are not under RTI
4. STEPS TO BE TAKEN FOR REDUCING THE INFLUENCE OF
MONEY AND MUSCLE POWER IN POLITICS
1.Expansion of democratic Principle in Remote areas:- People normally in remote areas
donot have much knowledge about politics and they get influenced by politicians and parties
very easily. So there is a need to expand democratic principles in every parts of country and
spread the knowledge of democracy.
5. 2. Right to Reject :- It won’t be a bad idea to add one more human right i.e Right to reject
following which the people of an area, state can reject their representatives who doesnot
fulfill their expectation.
6. 3. INVOLVEMENT OF YOUTH :- As we all know that politics is all about enrgy, power and
dedication which needs a great envolvement of youth of country.
Representatives of various universities should be given chance to explore their area in
politics as the voice of youth will be delivered through them.
There should be governing body to encourage youth to take part in election
Political science should be made compulsory subject in all bachelor degree
4.CHANGING THE IMAGE OF VOTING SYSTEM:- From the current image of indian
politics it can be easily seen that most of the people are electing their representative on the
basis of their Muscle and Money power, where some leaders use their money power to win
election and some use their muscle power and make the voters to vote them.
Election commission should be more active towards the use of money and should
keep the track of income and expanses of parties and leaders.
General People shouldn’t be influence by political parties using money and their
image to gain vote, people should think before electing their representative that who
is going to be beneficial for them in future
People should have all the information about details about the candidates competing
in the election
We know that its their money(parties) which they spend in campaign but election
commission should take care of the limits of money which they spend
