He studied political science at Aligarh Muslim University and journalism at Columbia University. He has worked as a reporter at Rediff and Tehelka and has written for various publications including the Guardian, Financial Times, New Statesman and Foreign Affairs where he was assistant editor. 8. About Indiaplaza Golden Quill Book Awards : ‘ Indiaplaza Golden Quill Book Awards’ is an annual award instituted by Indiaplaza.in, to be conferred to an Indian author domiciled in India. Initiated as an annual event in 2008, the award is aimed at encouraging and promoting excellence in writing amongst Indian authors. The award is constituted in two categories – Readers' Award and Critics' Award. Launched with the fiction category in 2008, the Award will see the addition of a new category this year – Readers Choice Award in Non Fiction. This year GOLDEN QUILL winners will be announced at an award function on 2 nd September 2009.
