3. Brad Walton – 2:40 pm Brad Walton is the Training and Recruitment Specialist at WCSCU. Over the past few weeks Brad has been working with Helen Whithall, the manager of their Main Street branch, to hire a new teller. http://blogs.intranetconnections.com
4. Steve Birk to Join WCSCU Brad is working on the Buzz Intranet adding a new training course on BSA Guidelines. He receives a chat message from Helen, letting him know that they have selected Steve Birk to fill the new position and requesting that Brad process the new employee http://blogs.intranetconnections.com
5. Processing the New Employee Brad has all of the applicants’ resumes on file so Helen leaves him to complete the rest of hiring process. Brad pulls out Steve’s resume, calls him to offer him the position and firm up his start date. http://blogs.intranetconnections.com
6. E-Forms Intranet App Next, Brad goes to the E-Forms (Electronic Forms) application on The Buzz Intranet where all of the corporate forms for WCSCU are stored http://blogs.intranetconnections.com
7. New Employee Form The ‘New Employee Form’ was set up to help streamline the internal processes associated with hiring a new staff member. Brad can fill out this form and submit it electronically, sending the request through an approval workflow process http://blogs.intranetconnections.com
8. Filling out the e-Form Brad fills out Steve’s first and last name He selects Steve’s department from the drop down This field is a SQL query that pulls in (and syncs) with the list of departments from the intranet Employee Directory application http://blogs.intranetconnections.com

Filling out the e-Form Brad enters Steve’s title He selects the agreed upon start date from the calendar date tool He checks the following options for IT to create a user account for Steve Birk Add to Active Directory Create an email in Exchange Create User in Payroll System Set up HUB in The Buzz Send out Welcome Package http://blogs.intranetconnections.com

Filling out the e-Form Brad refers to Steve’s resume then enters a quick blurb about the new employee This info will be used in Steve’s profile on The Buzz Steve can modify the info when he starts his new job Brad leaves the upload field for Steve’s photo blank It will be added to the intranet after Steve gets his photo taken for his security card http://blogs.intranetconnections.com
11. User-Defined Form Approval In the Approvals section of the form, Brad selects Helen’s name from the pre-populated list of managers at WCS. Helen will be Steve’s manager, and she needs to approve the info on the form before IT sets up the user accounts http://blogs.intranetconnections.com

Workflow Approval on Forms When Brad submits the New Employee Form, the request is routed to the User-Defined manager first (Helen Whithall)Helen must approve the request, then it will be routed to Heather Jenkins, the HR manager to approveFinally Karen Parson, the IT Manager has to sign off on itThe approval process is recorded and attached to the request Greg Tolsten, the Network Admin, receives an email with the form information included, so that he can create the user accounts http://blogs.intranetconnections.com
