The Pneumatics is study of mechanical motion caused by pressurized gases and how this motion can be used to perform engineering tasks.
Pneumatic systems operate on a supply of compressed air which must be available in sufficient quantity and the air used in pneumatic devices is dried and free from moisture so that it does not create any problem to the internal parts of the system and avoid corrosive actions too.
The compressed air is delivered by the compressor which is a machine that takes in air or gas at a certain pressure and delivered the air at a high pressure.
This machine is pneumatic powered machine and electrical energy is used to operate which has low co-efficient of friction and air.
This machine is designed in solid-works software (module 2017).

3. INTRODUCTION
• The Pneumatics is study of mechanical motion caused by pressurized gases and
how this motion can be used to perform engineering tasks.
• Pneumatic systems operate on a supply of compressed air which must be available
in sufficient quantity and the air used in pneumatic devices is dried and free from
moisture so that it does not create any problem to the internal parts of the system
and avoid corrosive actions too.
• The compressed air is delivered by the compressor which is a machine that takes in
air or gas at a certain pressure and delivered the air at a high pressure.
• This machine is pneumatic powered machine and electrical energy is used to
operate which has low co-efficient of friction and air.
• This machine is designed in solid-works software (module 2017).
4. FORGING MACHINE
• Forging is a manufacturing process
involving the shaping of metal using
localized compressive forces.
• The power is delivered by hammer.
5. TYPES OF FORGING MACHINE
COLD FORGING
• Cold forging is done at room temperature
or below recrystallization temperature.
HOT FORGING
• Hot forging is done at a high temperature
or above the recrystallization temperature.
• Makes metal easier to
shape
6. ADVANTAGES OF THE PNEUMATIC FORGING
MACHINE
• Pneumatic systems are simple and economical.
• Control of pneumatic systems is easier.
• Initial cost is less; hydraulics equipment cost as much as twice the price of
pneumatic equipment.
• Pneumatic actuators also have long life and perform well with negligible
maintenance requirement throughout their life cycle.
• Very suitable for power transmission when distance of transmission is more.

8. WORKING
• Firstly , the compressed air is employed in the system by mean of air compressor .
• The air enters on port one in the pneumatic cylinder to moves the forging hammer
in downward direction.
• After the forging operation takes places the forging hammer will moves in upward
direction. While on the hammer moves in upward direction the port one will release
and the air will be forced into the port number two.
• The two directions of pneumatic cylinder are controlled by mean of solenoid valve
which is controlled by mean of control unit (aurdino-uno).
• After the required number of strokes completed the forging process is stopped by
the help of the control unit. And we get the forged material of required shape and
size.
9. OBJECTIVE
• Modeling of pneumatic forging machine by using solidworks software (module
2017).
• Fabrication of pneumatic forging machine.
10. PROPOSED PLANE OF WORK
Proper assembly and detailed drawing and modify drawing after
testing prototype model mechanism
Prepare general layout of configuration and select joining methods
between individual components of product mechanism
Collect all material
Define specification of product
Market survey
11. COMPONENTS OF PNEUMATIC FORGING
MACHINE

GAS CUTTER IS USED FOR CUT THE MS SHEET
PNEUMATIC CYLINDER
Weight :- 800 gm
Bore size :- 50 mm
Stroke :- 250mm
Working pressure:- 110 psi
26. FABRICATION OF PNEUMATIC FORGING
MACHINE
There are different type of operation performed during the fabrication of pneumatic
forging machine:-
1. M.I.G Welding
2. Grinding operation
3. Drilling operation
4. Lifting operation
27. M.I.G WELDING
MIG welding is an arc welding process in which a continuous solid wire electrode is
fed through a welding gun and into the weld pool, joining the two base materials
together. A shielding gas is also sent through the welding gun and protects the weld
pool from contamination.
28. GRINDING OPERATION
• For removing of rusting or finishing processes grinding operation is used , this
process remove the dust particle or rusting from the material.
29. DRILLING OPERATION
• Pneumatic cylinder is mounted on the top plate by using the nuts and bolts For the
purpose of hole of bolts bench vise drill machine is used.
30. LIFTING OPERTION
• For the lifting purpose of the object we use mechanical jack assembly , A screw-
jack or jackscrew is a mechanical device used as a lifting device to lift heavy loads
or to apply great forces

32. CONCULSION
• This project has met its objective to produce a C-frame pneumatic forging machine
and its function to forge different type of material.
• We designed a pneumatic forging machine which is cost effective and also
available in the market.
• By the use of pneumatic components, they perform well with negligible
maintenance throughout their life cycle.
• They have long life and the price is also half as compared to the hydraulic
components of the machine.
• The power transmission in pneumatic machine for large distance is suitable as
compare to the hydraulic machine.
