6. TRANSPIRATION
• Process which a plant loses water
(water vapour) from leaves to
environment through stomata.
• More stomata are found on lower
epidermis – to prevent from losing
excess water.
7. • A stoma- tiny pore between a pair
of cells known as guard cells.
• Guard cells- control the opening
and closing of the stoma.
• Gases in and out of the leaf
through stoma during
photosynthesis and respiration.
8. Role of transpiration in transport
• As water is lost or used up by the
plants, more water is sucked up
from xylem in leaves, stem and
roots.
• It is a continuous process.
