St. Bernard Parish Hospital is scheduled to open in September 2012 to serve as an economic and community anchor in St. Bernard Parish after Hurricane Katrina. The 40-bed, 113,000 square foot facility will offer medical, surgical, emergency and intensive care services. It is designed with patient comfort and efficient care in mind. The adjacent 60,000 square foot medical office building will house physician practices and community health services. The hospital aims to play a major role in the parish's recovery.
