2. OutdoorClothes Outdoor looks were achieved by using fabrics like wool, Terylene or cotton gabardine, corduroy, leather, suede or mock suede fabrics made up as car coats. Also cheaper alternatives such as padded nylon diamond quilted anoraks or cotton anoraks with toggles and Austrian peasant embroidered braids were quite common.
4. 60's Fashion for Women The biggest impact on modern fashion was the introduction of the mini skirt. Originally created by designer Mary Quant, the skirt fell six to seven inches above the knee. Often paired with tights and go-go boots, the mini skirt started a phenomenon that still exists today. Other popular 60's fashions include: Baby-doll dresses with round necks and fitted waists were seen on women of all ages and sizes. These cute dresses were found in prints and solids and in both pastel and vibrant colors. Culottes were another popular clothing item. They had the look of a full skirt but were more versatile, like a trouser. Women were drawn to the vibrant, bold patterns not previously seen in fashion. Toward the end of the 1960s, peasant skirts, granny dresses and bell-bottom jeans became popular.
5. Hairstyles .In the 60's were cool Afro hairstyle.Therewereflowersinhair and armbands. Used a lot of hair spray and hair gel.
6. Hippie The hippiesubculture was originally a youth movement that arose in the United States during the mid-1960s, swiftly spreading to other countries around the world. The etymology of the term 'hippie' is from hipster, and was initially used to describe beatniks who had moved into New York City's Greenwich Village and San Francisco's Haight-Ashbury district. These people inherited the countercultural values of the Beat Generation, created their own communities, listened to psychedelic rock, embraced the sexual revolution, and used drugs such as marijuana and LSD to purportedly "explore alternative states of consciousness"
7. TheMod style The Mods of the early sixties took the suit to new levels of style. The tapered trousers and thin lapels of the Italian style, became a new youth cult in the early to mid sixties. To this look they added striped blazers, Fred Perry shirts and the Mod scooter, a Lambretta if possible. Carnaby Street was their fashion centre. John Stephen had several shops there. His male boutiques became the equivalent of Mary Quant's Bazaar. In the mid 60s, the London Mods congregated in Carnaby Street for a regular fashion parade. Pop music poured from the boutiques and men's shops along the small, narrow street. By the mid 60s, boutiques catering for girls as well as boys were common on Carnaby Street; the Mods usually brought their girlfriends along with them. Shops on Carnaby Street often came and went.
8. Teenclothing Trendy clothes are colorful. Dressed jackets and long trousers with wide legs. T-shirts were matched.
9. Make up At left, the perfect 1960s face. Dramatic eyes, featuring mascara used heavily, producing spiked lashes. Shadow is colored or dark. Skin is pale, often from foundation or powder called "translucent." Lips are pale or glittering, rarely showing dark shades.
