In that time the people of briten started to go in to
rashonine thay started to evacurate childring in to the
contrey side thay statred to rashon food and
propaganda made a big to the world
Food and rationing
● In world war to food was verey scarres because the
supliy ships that brot food in to briten wernt going out
because they cept getting bomed by german planes
so britan had to supply most of its food for its self.
Englends farmes had to worck exstra hard and had to
grow what the government wanted them to grow.
● The govermet set up a groop of people to organise
the rationing and food and they were caled the
miestrey of food.
Rationing
● Ratoning happen to save the food supply of bitan.
● Rationing worked by giving a Rationing book to evrey person and when they
whated to get food thay needed to bring the book to there chosen shop and get it
sind of under the corect category the category’s wear
meat,eggs,fats,cheese,bacon,suger/persevetives.
The avrage rason a erson cod have perar weak is: 50g of butter, 100g

milk, 50g of cheese, 6p(1shilling) worth of meat, 1 freesh egg,
50g of tea, 450g of jam everey 2 month's,
● 1 dried egg packet every 4 weeks, and 350g of sweets every 4 weeks.
● The government also introjused a polecey call dig for victorey that
posweaded people to grow the own vegtables and breed there one
anamals Rabbits were a good alternative because they were quick to

● There were allso black market delers that gave out elegal products to
people for money.

things fore the government.
● The poropaganda posteres puswaded people to do thins
from working in factorey to sending there children to the
contrary side for evacuation.
● Adverts and nuse articalls had to meat government
stranded and hat to be posetive and motevating.
Propaganda
● Propaganda plade a big part in the home front because it
made people think about what to do and it shownd what

propaganda
Home front protection
● In world war 2 the mane battle never came to Britain but there
were still air rades form German planes. There planes targeted
the bigger city and factorises.
● In WW1 gas was a big problem so in WW2 thay provided evrey
one whith a gas mask but lukeley brighten didn’t get gases at all.
Air rades
● There were a set of sceems to stop the inpack of the bombs and to try to confuse
the planes the most famose methord to stop the impackt of the air raids is to
black out the windows and all of the lights to try and stop the impact there was
also a wadens that cheked that there was no light coming out.
● The over way to protecket from the bomers was to youes anti-air guns but the first
ones that were youed we not very acret and evrey 30,000 shells fored thay got 1
plane but they cepetr them because it made the people feel safer
● The anti air guns did improve exspchely when threy were connected to radar the
guns were sometimes place on navel forts that were structurs placed in the sea.
● The other wna was to put blimps up in the sky at night so the planes crash in to
them and the blims were fild with hidrogen that isa flambal gas so whne the plan
crashes in to them they blow up thay were caled the Balloon Barrage thay were
also lached from specialised vehicles.
● Thay also youed british planes to shout down the german planes.
Wartime jobs for
women
● Bfore the war most woman did home chors like lloking after
the children and cleaning the home and the husband made
most of the income. but when the wear came and the men
had to go of to fight thw oomen were left to kepe things
running.
● The women had to replace the men in there jobs and they
had to work at the factoreys the work they did was , drive
abluence, make air craft, making the wepons and helping
cleen out the streets of the rubble.
When the war was over most of the woomen stade in there
job.
War time
entertainment
● One of the mane and most youes sore of enterner tement was
lisening to the radio exspecheley wean you chodent go out
because of the air rades.
● In serten factroey were women worked somtine at the lunch brke
ther whoud be a performance they were singer's ,actor's and
dancers.
● Cinema was verey important sorce of entertanment in the war
before the war adiences were 20 million but in the war it grow up
to 32 million.
VE day
● VE day stands for victory in Europe day it was anows on
Tuesday 8 May 1945 at 02.41.
● There was huge celebration's all acros uropue with big bamqites
and fore workds but some people remanised on the war in sted
of selabrating the end of it.
● Winston churchhill gave a spech and bridcasted acros the nation
that the war was over.
My intervene
● I intuvued my grandam and granddad thay wre born at the
beginning of the war
● My granddad was born and lived on a farm and by
grandma was born and live'd in a small town.
There experences with
evcauashion
● My Granada never got evacuated and nether did my grandma b
but by grandad lived in a farm and he rememberd when
evacuwese were moved in to the cotage next to him and the
children youst to come over and play whiht him.
● The chlidren who were evated to the cotage next to my grandad
left before the bomb’s started dropping so they diden't mave
much exsperence of london.
● The children did setttle in nicley and when to the vilerg school
like normal.
Rationing and food
● Because by grandad live on a farm ratoning didn't efect him as
much as if you lived on a town or a city and they got freesh egg's
and meet but he was still resticted because thay had to supiy
meet to the village.
● My granmar had experiences with people deling in black market
and she remember having raire fruit’s like banana's because
here mother's frend nues the shop ceper and gave some of the
exstras to her.
● My grandma youst to get shell fish from a lokel fishery
● When my grandad and granamr were at school on the way there
there was ermericans driving jeaps and thowing out gum for the
children to eat and my grandmars older brother when up to them
and got hand fulls of sweets to bring back home .
War experiences
● My grammars farther was in the medical section of the RAF and he
treated the pilot's that were ingdergd in the war he was sen't to canada
to look after the pationts.
● My granmar remembered about tanks going across the street and there
were American soldiers living in the home of the people how liver in the
town and my grandma’s mother accommodated them.
● My grandadas town there were american's camping in the town.
● Because my Grandad lived on a farm there was lots of spear lad so the
Minstey Of Defence came along at tolld my grandad's father that thay
were going to take over some of his land to build a prisoner of war camp.
● My grandad fownd holes in the fence surownding the prison and cruald
throw them and walked arownd the camp and youst to talk to the
prisoners and teach them some english.
● My grandmer was picked to dance for the school at the end VE day.
