SENIOR DESIGN- Improved Rocketry Ignition System.
Co-developed new ignition system for amateur rockets. Present system uses delicate wires dipped in pyrogen. Igniters drain
energy from the same battery used to power the flight computer. Flight computer can reset in midflight if too much power is
consumed.
Developed a separate secondary circuit for the igniter system using a capacitor instead of a 9v. Prevents possibility
of flight computer resetting in flight
Constructed and preformed analysis on a new igniter using plasma arc technology. Less susceptibility to
mechanical shock.
