IceBreaker: Hello, good afternoon. I’m Jhon Alven member of Group 1 together with
Tricia and Garry, we are here to present Lesson 2: Science and Technology and Its
Role in Nation-building, before we formally begin let’s have first an icebreaker to warm
up ourselves.

Filler: So now we can finally begin our discussion.

Introduction: Sinabi rito na ang science and technology is one of the reason or one of
the tool kung bakit mabilis ang pagdevelop or progress ng isang bansa. We can’t deny
the fact na tama naman ang statement na ito, kase sa halos lahat ng bansa ngayon
including yung Philippines ang gumagamit na rin na mga innovative technology to have
development and make our lives easier. For example, in our Agriculture sector
nahihirapan tayo pagdating sa yielding process na meron tayo best example nito is yung
rice, so our government is using a biotechnology so that the rice production and quality
can be improve. As a result, we can eradicate the increasing hubger in our country.
What is Science? *ask idea to the class
Learning new things – science gives us the opportunity to gain new knowledge on how
and why things function as we explore the world of science.
Solving problems – science provides us with the skill to solve a problem in a scientific
way, if you have something na hindi mo maintindihan you can do an experiment or
observation so that yung bagay na iyon ay maintindihan mo.
Inventing new things – as the world progress, maraming mga bagay sa ating mundo
ang nadedevelop through science, best example nito is yung mga virtual intelligence na
meron tayo as can be seen in the picture.
Branches of Science
Filler: The following are the different branches of science.

Botany – the study of plants
Zoology – the study of animals
Geology – the study of the Earth’s surface
Astronomy – the study of everything in the universe beyond Earth’s atmosphere
Chemistry – it deals with the properties, composition, and structure of elements and
compounds
