2. Introduction
Radio frequency identification system (RFID) is an automatic technology and aids machines or
computers to identify objects, record metadata or control individual target through radio waves.
Connecting RFID reader to the terminal of Internet, the readers can identify, track and monitor the
objects attached with tags globally, automatically, and in real time, if needed. This is the so-called
Internet of Things (IoT). RFID is often seen as a prerequisite for the IoT. This paper introduces the
technologies of RFID and IoT, discusses the applications and challenges of RFID technology used in
IoT.

3. Technology that enables RFID functioning.
• The RFID Information Server is a Java 2 Platform, Enterprise
Edition (J2EE) application that serves as an interface for
capture and query of EPC-related data
• J2EE container hosts the RFID Information Server and RFID
Management Console.

4. What is inside a RFID
1.RFID Reader – Antenna and
transceiver(reader)
2.Micro chip

8. As you may know, the initials RFID mean Radio Frequency Identification. The
basic concept of operation is:
● An antenna sends out and receives radio signals.
● These signals are received and returned by an RFID tag with information
added.
● A reader which is integrated with a system accepts and stores these data
called events and finally, they trigger actions.
8
11. These are the areas of greatest application of RFID technology
● Payments in means of transport: public transports and tolls. ...
● Asset management: Location, identification and transport trace. ...
● Logistics. ...
● Inventories and warehouses. ...
● Identification of animals. ...
● Treatment , hospital
● Access control: sports facilities, buildings, tourism

12. Literature Reviews
Now a days we commonly use barcode in business product, Id cards, parcels
and many other instruments. It takes many time to read my barcode reader.
Another thing barcode reader read one thing at a time. We can solve this
kinds of problem by RFID.
If we can integrate RFID in our business and other management site we will
get a good result then Barcode.
12
14. Research Methodology
According to the research objective, available data (findings from research)
have been studied to give the next order to the investigation. First of all, the
paper presents a short introduction to know the advantage of RFID. After that,
there is a conceptualization about meaning and the development of its
architectures, making emphasis in which are the vital components of it and
following the done proposals by some authors, correctly cited in this document.
The next sections show a proposal of a standard architecture done from the
review of different author’s prototypes in order to solve problems of integration
of technologies and of information for the development of applications, which
are its possible problems and challenges, then authors’ proposals and the
concluding remarks are defined
14
16. Cost Estimation
Barcode readers work by using a beam of light to read the black and white
pattern printed on the adhesive tag. On the other hand, RFID leverages radio
waves to transmit data from RFID chips to the readers. Barcode encoding (e.g.
GTIN) and RFID encoding (EPC) both follow the same standard by GS1, so
the transition is smooth and compatibility is guaranteed.
Beyond any doubt, there is a huge performance gap between barcode and RFID
when it comes to speed. This is a direct consequence of individual scanning
(barcode) vs. scanning of multiple items at once (RFID).
16
17. ● The impact of the signal is vulnerable by material such
as liquid and metal Sometimes it accidentally scans the
data.
● RFID tag cost is much higher than barcode as there is
inbuilt chip inside the tag
● RFID Implementation is time-consuming
● Though it is costly and time consuming to
implementation but is secure and make the life easy for
people. 17
Disadvantages of RFID are as follow:
18. Conclusion
RFID is Faster and automatically track the object. It reduce the people's
problem easily.
RFID offers several benefits, a good many of which you can realize today
to a substantial degree with the existing products. Other benefits are also
somewhat realizable, and it is expected that improvements in technology
will steadily bring these benefits to a mature level.
