You must complete three problem
statements. Each one must include at
least 3 elements.
1. A target beneficiary: specified age,
gender, educational background,
culture or location
–Reason: Poster design and content will
be influenced by these elements

2. Beneficiary needs must be clearly
urgent or the problem or situation must
be clearly critical.
– Reason: This results in a useful proposal.
– Tip 1: If the urgency is unclear, add an in-text
citation that is hyperlinked to a website that
proves the urgency. (Example)
– Tip 2: If the website is long, add a paragraph
number: Author last name, year, para. #
(Example).

3. Relevance: What the beneficiary must
do to meet the needs must be
countable or quantifiable in terms of
time, steps, units, outputs, etc.
– Reason: It is easier to measure a project’s
success, progress, or development if the
goals or steps are countable.
– Reason: When you write a project report,
it’s easier to write about progress, success
or development.
