3. Montage Editing There are two types of montage editing, soviet and Hollywood, Hollywood being the more recent and soviet coming from the 1920’s. 4. Transitions There are many different types of transitions they are all used to connect clips together, wipe where the screen seemingly slides away, dissolve where the top layer dissolves revealing another layer beneath they are very important as they can set the mood of a scene.
