2. Why Gandhi don’t demanded freedom
in 1920
Factors
• Gandhi had a great belief in Britishers & Lenin came to
power and denounced imperialism.
• He tried to bring changes in the mindset of the people.
• He tried to bring equality in society. He worked towards
removing evil practices of society. Without all these changes
freedom had no meaning.
• World War -1

3. Why Gandhi wanted freedom in 1942
• 1930, Gandhi started his Civil Disobedience.
• In 1939, with the outbreak of war between Germany and
Britain, India was announced to be a party to the war for
being a constituent component of the British Empire.
• On 1942, Sir Stafford Cripps came to India with his
proposals which were rejected by all political parties. The
failure of the Cripps Mission led to unprecedented
disturbances.
• Indian National Army(1942)

4. My views
• Gandhi was visionary and never wanted just end of British
rule. He wanted stability in the region.
• India was one of the cherished colony of Britain. Everyone
wanted India.
• So even if Britain had left India, India would have become a
battlefield for world powers like Germany, USSR (Union of
Soviet Socialist Republics) , Japan .
• Because of Mahatma's peaceful campaign India-Britain
relationship was never strained. Without Mahatma, Indian
leaders might have been tempted to break all those ties and
weaken the things that link the nation.
