Dear Prospective Employer,
Attached you will find my resume and references seeking a position as a teacher with
your school. I am well trained in literacy concepts, technology implementation, special
education, content knowledge, science content knowledge, fine arts and communications.
Utilizing my experience, academic knowledge, and leadership abilities I provide a
creative, nurturing, and positive learning environment for my students. Teaching is my
passion, and the humanitarian qualities transpire in the work that I do as an educator.
I consider myself an integrator, finding a third way when other practices may not be
effective. I believe in the importance of building strong relationships with my students
and their families to ensure continued academic and emotional support. I hold my
students to high levels of expectation by facilitating a rigorous curriculum, accompanied
with data driven instruction. I assess students regularly, both formally and informally
and analyze data with my students. I have found that this approach makes the work more
meaningful to them, which in essence is what matters. I believe in the power of
education, and I strongly believe in educational equity. As a current Elementary Teacher
at Allenbrook Elementary School in south Charlotte I feel that my education and
background are useful inside the classroom as well as in the community.
You will find me to be a focused employee, with my heart behind the success of my
students. I am committed to going above and beyond for the betterment of the causes
that I serve. As a Teach for America core member this year, my value and dedication for
students in underserved districts is evident. I am truly looking for a school district that
can see my creative abilities accompanied by my experience, education, and innovative
approach to teaching and learning. I thank you so very much for the time you take to
review this letter and my resume. I anticipate our conversations in the near future.
My very best,
Miss Jamie Cowling
