This document provides instructions for students completing a controlled photography assignment. It details how to label final prints, save digital files, and write an artist statement and evaluation. The artist statement should explain the concept, purpose, and personal significance of the body of work, while engaging the reader. The evaluation requires students to reflect on their aims, strengths, areas for improvement, and how technical skills were applied to connect images to initial research.

5. Artist Statement
Answer the following questions:
What is the concept of your body of work?
Why are you producing it?
How is it personal to you and your life?
Use contextual information and writing style to raise interest
in this subject matter. Using past experiences or stories
engages people. Use facts and statistics that justify and
further explain or enhance your concept.
You have defined the subject as personally interesting to
you, the concept might be alien to the audience but your
artist statement should ensure the person reading it will
desire to explore your images and subject matter further.

What do you feel you did well (your strengths) and why?
What do you feel you could improve on and why?
How and why did you connect your final images to your research?
