BACKGROUND
With more than 15 years of international design with expertise ranging from architecture to interior design, lighting design, ur-
ban planning and development over 4 continents, Jean-Jacques remains energetic and passionate about creating spaces
that improve lives in many ways. Its personal, artistic approach to forms and materials is always enhanced by its deep un-
derstanding of the economics of a projects.
After a bachelor degree in town planning and architecture from the National Superior Architecture Schools of Paris-La-De-
fense with part of the curriculum spent at the Technishe Universitat in Dresden (Germany) and at the Witwatersrand Uni-
versity of Johanesburg (South Africa), Jean-Jacques enroll to the Asian Metropolitan Studies Master, keeping track of the
development of the largest Asian cities. An acclaimed thesis on Hong Kong and a complex urban planning in Senegal leads
to its suma cum laude graduation from the National Superior Architecture School of Paris-La-Villette, making him a fully li-
censed french architect.
His work encompass everything space-design related from large scale projects to smaller endeavors with always in mind
this quest for the perfect balance of simplicity, efficiency, elegance, connectivity and art. Restaurants, Shopping Malls, Ho-
tels ,Residential developments, Public spaces, Civic and Cultural Buildings, Master-plans, Health-care facilities ... A great vari-
ety of projects with always a same design vision that create a world of difference...

Jean-Jacques innovative vision in development has been sharpened with intensive work with Peter Rich in Johannesburg
(Poverty Relief Projects, Townships projects…), with the Asian Metropolitan Studies Program ( Hong Kong Industrial Develop-
ment, Hanoi Structure Analysis…) and with Groupe J Ltd that he cofounded in 2007 (Sine-Saloum Agro-Industrial Master-
plan [Senegal], Aksum Tourism Masterplan with PRA [Ethiopia] , Xining Parking Masterplan [China], Tianjin Residential Mas-
terplans [China]…)

LIGHTING DESIGN
His involvement with lighting developed professionally during his formative years and allows him to push projects through Eu-
rope, the Middle East and Asia while completing his studies. He since is considered as one of the most comprehensive ex-
pert in architectural lighting design in Asia with a full range of projects completed.

During the course of the 7 last years, Jean-Jacques Lanzo have been involved in the transmission and diffusion of his ide-

the world (Ivory Coast Architectural Board, Togo Architectural Board…). His work has as well been recognized and pub-
lished in several magazines while he is contributing with articles and books to the design field
