2. The 100 (CW)
A century after Earth was ravaged by nuclear war and the survivors abandoned the
uninhabitable planet for a space ark, 100 teenaged delinquents are sent back to the
post-apocalyptic planet to see if they can survive. It’s Hunger Games, with a dash of
Battlestar Galactica.
3. Almost Human (Fox)
Think Bladerunner meets NYPD Blue. Set some 35 years in future Los Angeles, it’s a
buddy cop drama – but one of the cops is a highly-evolved android. Lost’s J.J.
Abrams is executive producing, so watch for plot twists with the future tech.
4. Intelligence (CBS)
The series centres around a U.S. military Cyber Command agent with a microchip
implanted in his brain that lets him access the “information grid.” So basically it’s
Chuck but with the Intersect where it was meant to go, and not a Geek Squad tech
in Burbank.
5. Agents S.H.I.E.L.D. (ABC)
After years of comic-inspired movies, here’s a comic-inspired TV series. The U.S.
government puts together a team of crime-fighting super humans. Despite his
apparent death in the last The Avengers movie, Agent Phil Coulson is back to lead
the team.
6. The Tomorrow People (CW)
Based on a British series of the same name, The Tomorrow People follows a group of
ordinary folks who suddenly realize they’re highly-evolved super humans with
special powers (sound familiar?). Let’s hope they use their powers for good.
