Responsibilities include teaching in self-contained bilingual classroom in a rapid transition program where
students are taught in a 50/50% Home Language with intensive ESL to transition into English by third
Grade. I have also served on the Literacy Committee and taught adult ESL classes to parents. Working with
my Second Grade Team we have developed assessments and Unit Plans, which highlight Reading and
Writing Workshop approaches to literacy. We have worked with Columbia University’s Teacher College
Reading and Writing Project to develop school wide literacy assessments.
