Where It All Startedand Led To The Now By: Jennifer Sapphire Soto T.Th 11-1220 Fall 2010
Great Grandparents Soto My great grandfather was named Pedro Soto. He was part native American and Mexican My great grandmother was named Antonia Sanchez Villaloros. She was from Spain and was very fair skinned.
Grandparents Soto My grandfather was named Pedro Soto. He was Mexican, Native American, and Spaniard. He was owned a farm and had to travel to other towns to do business. My grandmother was named Conrrada Soto. She was Mexican and Spaniard. She became a wife and mother of five. She lived in Mexico until the time of her death.
My Father’s Sister My fathers sister is named Elisa Soto. She later married and became Elisa Villaba. She later lost her husband to cancer and was left widowed. She now lives with her son in Compton Ca, and her children are grown.
My Father’s Brothers The Oldest brother Alberto Soto. He is the leader of the family. He was the inspiration for the hole Soto family to make there way to the U.S and become citizens in Los Angeles. Eleutrio Soto he was the third to be born. He was murdered and killed at the age of eighteen in Durango Mexico. Macario Soto was the forth one born he still resides in Mexico with his family.
My Father My father is named Bernardo Viallobos Soto. He was born August 20 1951, in Chihuahua Mexico. He came to California in the 1970’s. He works for Metro in downtown L.A. He is a father and grandfather. He is supper Athletic and is the youngest of five like me.
My Great Grandparent’s Cedres My Great Grandmother was named Caridad Morales. She came from a blood line of full blood Cubans. My Great Grandfather was named EnjacioCedre. He also came from a strong blood line of Cubans. They both where born and raised in Cuba. Theyresided there until they both passed away in their later years.
My Grandparents Otero My Grandfather was name Jose Otero. He was Cuban and part Spaniard. He left Cuba with the family, then left his wife and moved to California with my mother. My Grandmother was named Rafaela Cedre. She was full blood Cuban. She left Cuba and spent her remaining years with her son and daughter in Florida while my mother moved to California with her father and cousins.
My Mother’s Brother My mother’s brother is named Jose Otero. He was born and raised in Cuban. He served sometime in a camp for people against Castro. As soon as he was released he moved to Miami Florida. He has four children, and one of his son’s passed away in his twenties from a brain tumor. My mother’s brother is currently not heard from at this time.
My Mother’s Sister My mom sister is named Sonia Otero. She was born and raised in Havana Cuba In her later years she moved to Connecticut, but later moved and now lives in Miami Florida. She has two children and they no longer live with her.
My Mother Dulce Maria Otero was born in September 12 1939. She was the youngest of four kids. She was born and raised in Cuba. Living there she moved around some from houses of relatives. She later got married to her first husband, but could not take the struggles with Castro. My mother to took her two children at the time and fled for Connecticut. My mother quickly got tired of the cold moving with her father and cousins' to Los Angels. This is where she worked hard as a single mother later on meeting my father in late 1974 later getting married in 1977
My Half Sibling My Brother Alejandro Otero, but we just call him Alex. He is from my mother’s first marriage in Cuba. He is the oldest of five children. He has three children and one on the way. He is what you could say the crazy one of the kids. My Sister Mary is next in line and is the oldest for the girls. She is the mother to my nephew Joshua. Her role in the family is definitely the motherly role. But with this we do not classify our self has half siblings. To us we are blood……
The Soto Children From my mother and father there is three children. The first being a boy, which is my brother Bernie. Who keeps to himself, but is always there whenever you need him. Next my sister Marlene which is the studiess one out of the children. She worked hard and strived to meet those goals. She is now a middle school teacher, and is a real role model to her children she teaches. Then there is me, Jennifer being the last I have a mix of all my siblings, but if anything I am the baby. At 22 will still be classified as that. I am the one that everyone looks out for. Currently I am striving for a career in the medical field and hope to finish here shortly.
My Family………….. These events and people led me to the here and now. Without them I would not exist, yet they might not be perfect and we tend to be a little crazy. In the end this is my family and if it was not for my ancestors that came together, fought for what was theirs, and built the two families that ended up uniting as one…. I would be lost without these people today that I call my own ….. These people are FAMILY!!!
