This lesson plan is for a Year 8 class studying Romeo and Juliet. The learning objective is for students to write a PEE paragraph addressing who is to blame for the tragedy in the play. All students will be expected to write at least three PEE paragraphs and a conclusion. Formative assessment includes having students identify good examples from sample paragraphs and setting targets. Students will then write their own assessment using quotes they have found themselves. The resources needed are copies of Romeo and Juliet, blank paper, and key terminology will be discussed to support understanding of the text.
