2. Many new technologies can be used in
the classroom.
• At any age, with any subject, today’s
technology, is a great addition to the
classroom.
• Individual computers can be used to run
educational software, aiding in the
reinforcement of lessons.
• Overhead projectors and interactive boards
can be seen by the entire class and aid in
teaching lessons.
3. A great way to engage your students
• Technology
working
together to
allow students
to actively
participate in
learning.
4. The new technology available to
classrooms, is an excellent way to
aid teaching, as well as reinforce
lessons already taught.
As stated in our text, “ The question that
remains for educators is how to determine
and select the most effective and
appropriate visual technologies for the
content under study” (p 293).
5. Video and Audio
• Always preview video clips and movies before
showing your students.
• Play audio clips for a classroom to guess
famous quotes.
• “Although these visuals might not be high
tech, they may well be the best choice to
support the content under study,” as stated in
our text (p 293).
6. Document Cameras
• A great way to display objects of all sizes for
the whole class to see.
• To engage different learning styles, show and
tell your lesson, using technology.
• Encourage your students to bring in an item
they want to show to the class.
7. Challenge Yourself
• No matter what technology is used, teachers
need to continue finding, fun new ways to
engage their students.
• Use students work, displayed on a bulletin
board, this way they can get excited by seeing
their work used to demonstrate.
• Remember to consistently journal and
evaluate your teaching style.
8. Cool New technology
• “ Schools that are equipped with
teleconferencing systems can bring live, fully
interactive instruction from one location to the
next or have distant guest speakers visit the
classroom without having to travel” (p 304).
• “ The capability of sharing events and interviews
without having to purchase costly television time
has made Internet broadcasting an exciting
opportunity for education” (p 305).
