2. Mr. and Mrs. Blackwell have been inspired by the 18th
century neoclassical style after visiting the Dumfries Home
in England. They would like to use elements of the design in
their new home focusing on the formal living, dining, study
and master suite. These rooms will capture the neoclassical
style by using the Tuscan order, a timeless color pallet, and
reproduction and antiques from the period.
The Blackwell residence will be designed in the 18th century
neoclassical style while working with modern materials and
products. Focusing on the main living areas bringing many
of the neoclassical style element into the space will be the
key to accomplish the inspiration of the Dumfries house into
the Blackwell’s Home.

19. After the 2005 Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, it has
been essential for stronger new homes to help withstand
these natural disasters when they occur. Using stronger
materials for the structure, and laying out the structure itself
will ensure more safety and less damage. Using a smaller
square foot home will be beneficial because of stronger
materials used at less of a cost.
The design for the Tiny House will be focused on function,
keeping everything simple and easy use, as well as, holding
together during worse case scenarios. The home will sit two
feet off the ground using reinforced glass concrete columns
and a concrete and foam structure having the ability to
float.
