Service Learning Project Jillian Long
I completed my community connections project at Oviedo High School. I visited Mrs. Coe’s Life Management class. All of my 15 hours were finished in three days broken up into 5 hours a day. Oviedo High School
Mrs. Coe’s class consisted of typical students, ESOL students, and students with special needs. Because her class had such a wide range of students with different needs she was sure to use various accommodations for all of her students. Mrs. Coe’s students
Unfortunately I was not able to take any pictures of her class. She did not have any consent forms on file. Pictures
I really enjoyed observing Mrs. Coe’s class and helping her students with their school work. She used multiple accommodations in her classes. Mrs. Coe would write the information on the board and then show pictures or a movie of what they were learning in class. I thought that she did a good job at keeping all of her student’s needs in mind. Accommodations
Mrs. Coe’s students did not only range from typical students to special needs students they were also in different grade levels. Because her students consisted of different ages and needs, I saw how many accommodations you must have to make sure that all of your students are comprehending the information that you are giving them. Student’s needs
