Lined Shape Composition
REQUIREMENTS
1. Students must choose 2 DIFFERENT LINE style
examples to combine in their composition (see
examples)
1. DESIGN or DESIGNS must touch ALL FOUR (4) sides
of the paper and show an OVERLAPPING of 3-D
shapes at least 3 times.
1. COMPOSITION is FINISHED with 2 PEN & INK
blending techniques to show value changes (no white
space showing)
1. 75% -25% RULE : 75% of your paper MUST be lined
shapes (or 3-D forms) shaded using a PEN & INK
style, 25% will be NEGATIVE OPEN SPACE (not
white space)
Project’s Purpose:
To make sure that each student
is aware of the correct process of
using PEN & INK to add VALUE
(shade) to a shape and/or form to
make it appear three
dimensional.
Additionally, it will be each
individual’s responsibility to
PROVE their UNDERSTANDING
of how LINES (contour) work to
CREATE different FORMS
(cross contour)
Project Deadline
November 7 *
At the end of the hour
