- App Service has everything you need to build apps that target both web and mobile clients from a single app back-end. Using API Apps, you can connect your app to dozens of popular services like Office 365 and salesforce.com in minutes, and integrate your own APIs so they can be used within any app. And finally with Logic Apps, you can automate business processes using a simple no-code experience.
- App Service: is a set of services that has everything you need to build apps that target both web and mobile clients from a single app back end. Supporting a range of language options—.NET, Node.js, Java, PHP, and Python—it consists of Web Apps, Mobile Apps, Logic Apps, and API Apps. Functions: provides serverless, compute for event-driven solutions that extends the existing Azure application platform with capabilities to implement code triggered by events occurring in other Azure services, SaaS products (like Office365 and Salesforce.com), and on-premises systems. Cloud Services: was the original Microsoft platform as a service (PaaS) service launched in 2010. Inspired by the needs of developers, Cloud Services enabled them to easily deploy .NET applications, taking advantage of cloud infrastructure like Virtual Machines and Virtual Networks without having to manage the low-level details and configuration of Windows Server and the underlying infrastructure. Other PaaS: all PaaS runs great on Azure! Azure supports the leading third-party PaaS framework providers like Cloud Foundry and OpenShift.
- As a component IoT hub offers massive scalability with support for up to 10 million devices per instance. Additional instances can be created if required. Secure two way communication and command control (to a device level) can be achieved through IoT Hub. Device health telemetry can be displayed through the IoT Hub portal in the preconfigured solution offering real time insights into the performance of a device. Communication errors and faulty assets can be identified and flagged for attention or simply removed from the system. Tighten security through per device ID and credential authentication. IoT Hub natively supports AMQP and HTTP protocols and is designed to extensively support custom protocols where required. Multi platform SDKs are available for different OS’s and languages. - While there are a lot of interesting IoT scenarios unfolding in the consumer space, based on our experience in working with customers and partners we see the majority of IoT value being enabled in the commercial space. This is backed by a recently released McKinsey report that states that 70% of the value enabled by IoT will come from B2B scenarios. Whether its Rockwell Automation, from whom you'll hear from later on today, that is helping its oil and gas customers improve efficiency by monitoring supply chain assets, or ThyssenKrupp elevators that is doing predictive maintenance on elevators to prevent unscheduled downtime for their customers, or the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC) that is using IoT to continuously monitor various sensors of the linear accelerator to anticipate problems, take action and prevent failure; organization of all types are starting to harness the value of IoT to transform themselves. Of course, as a solution provider you could very well be working with a customer that's creating a consumer product, let's say a car manufacturer. However, the value you'll be providing in this B2B2C scenario is helping that organization build an enterprise grade IoT solution so they can launch their products. Our focus here is simply to enable build enterprise grade internet of their things solutions for your customers. Our goal is to provide you the best platform to do this.
