1.
2. 4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There
will be no more death’ or mourning or crying
or pain, for the old order of things has passed
away.”
Revelation 21:4
4. 18 “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he
has anointed me to proclaim good news to the
poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for
the prisoners and recovery of sight for the
blind, to set the oppressed free, 19 to proclaim
the year of the Lord’s favor.”
Luke 4 :18–19
5. 20 Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to
the attendant and sat down. The eyes of
everyone in the synagogue were fastened on him.
21 He began by saying to them, “Today this
scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”
Luke 4 :20–21
6. 1 The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim
good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind
up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for
the captives and release from darkness for the
prisoners,
Isaiah 61:1
7. 2 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and
the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all
who mourn,
Isaiah 61:2
8. 18 In that day the deaf will hear the words of
the scroll, and out of gloom and darkness the
eyes of the blind will see. 19 Once more the
humble will rejoice in the Lord; the needy will
rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.
Isaiah 29:18–19
9. 3 Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees
that give way; 4 say to those with fearful
hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will
come, he will come with vengeance; with divine
retribution he will come to save you.”
Isaiah 35:3–4
10. 5 Then will the eyes of the blind be opened and
the ears of the deaf unstopped. 6 Then will the
lame leap like a deer, and the mute tongue
shout for joy. Water will gush forth in the
wilderness and streams in the desert.
Isaiah 35:5–6
11. 7 The burning sand will become a pool, the
thirsty ground bubbling springs. In the haunts
where jackals once lay, grass and reeds and
papyrus will grow.
Isaiah 35:7
12. 8 And a highway will be there; it will be called
the Way of Holiness; it will be for those who
walk on that Way. The unclean will not journey
on it; wicked fools will not go about on it.
Isaiah 35:8
13. Jesus’ answer of John the baptist’s question
is a demonstration of god’s kingdom here on
earth.
14. 18 John’s disciples told him about all these
things. Calling two of them, 19 he sent them to
the Lord to ask, “Are you the one who is to
come, or should we expect someone else?”
Luke 7:18–19
15. 20 When the men came to Jesus, they said, “John
the Baptist sent us to you to ask, ‘Are you the
one who is to come, or should we expect
someone else?’ ” 21 At that very time Jesus cured
many who had diseases, sicknesses and evil
spirits, and gave sight to many who were blind.
Luke 7:20–21
16. 22 So he replied to the messengers, “Go back and
report to John what you have seen and heard:
The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those
who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear,
the dead are raised, and the good news is
proclaimed to the poor.
Luke 7:22
17. 23 Blessed is anyone who does not stumble on
account of me.”
Luke 7:23
18. Jesus gave his 12 disciples power to heal,
deliver and declare god’s kingdom.
19. 1 When Jesus had called the Twelve together, he
gave them power and authority to drive out all
demons and to cure diseases, 2 and he sent them
out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal
the sick.
Luke 9:1–2
20. 10 When the apostles returned, they reported to
Jesus what they had done. Then he took them
with him and they withdrew by themselves to a
town called Bethsaida,
Luke 9:10
21. 11 but the crowds learned about it and
followed him. He welcomed them and spoke to
them about the kingdom of God, and healed
those who needed healing.
Luke 9:11
22. Jesus appoints 72 more disciples with
instructions to heal, deliver and declare the
kingdom of God.
23. 1 After this the Lord appointed seventy-two
others and sent them two by two ahead of him
to every town and place where he was about to
go.
Luke 10:1
24. 9 Heal the sick who are there and tell them,
‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’ 10
But when you enter a town and are not
welcomed, go into its streets and say,
Luke 10:9–10
25. 11 ‘Even the dust of your town we wipe from our
feet as a warning to you. Yet be sure of this:
The kingdom of God has come near.’
Luke 10:11
26. 17 The seventy-two returned with joy and said,
“Lord, even the demons submit to us in your
name.” 18 He replied, “I saw Satan fall like
lightning from heaven.
Luke 10:17–18
27. 19 I have given you authority to trample on
snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the
power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. 20
However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit
to you, but rejoice that your names are written
in heaven.”
Luke 10:19–20
30. 14 Jesus was driving out a demon that was
mute. When the demon left, the man who had
been mute spoke, and the crowd was amazed. 15
But some of them said, “By Beelzebul, the prince
of demons, he is driving out demons.”
Luke 11:14–15
31. 16 Others tested him by asking for a sign from
heaven. 17 Jesus knew their thoughts and said to
them: “Any kingdom divided against itself will
be ruined, and a house divided against itself
will fall.
Luke 11:16–17
32. 18 If Satan is divided against himself, how can
his kingdom stand? I say this because you claim
that I drive out demons by Beelzebul. 19 Now if I
drive out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your
followers drive them out? So then, they will be
your judges.
Luke 11:18–19
33. 20 But if I drive out demons by the finger of
God, then the kingdom of God has come upon
you. 21 “When a strong man, fully armed, guards
his own house, his possessions are safe.
Luke 11:20–21
34. 22 But when someone stronger attacks and
overpowers him, he takes away the armor in
which the man trusted and divides up his
plunder. 23 “Whoever is not with me is against
me, and whoever does not gather with me
scatters.
Luke 11:22–23
