The coming of God's kingdom means power over disease and demons and ultimately death.

3. The fulfillment of scripture signals the coming
of god’s kingdom

4. 18 “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he
has anointed me to proclaim good news to the
poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for
the prisoners and recovery of sight for the
blind, to set the oppressed free, 19 to proclaim
the year of the Lord’s favor.”

earth.

the Lord to ask, “Are you the one who is to
come, or should we expect someone else?”

the Baptist sent us to you to ask, ‘Are you the

18. Jesus gave his 12 disciples power to heal,
deliver and declare god’s kingdom.

19. 1 When Jesus had called the Twelve together, he
gave them power and authority to drive out all
demons and to cure diseases, 2 and he sent them
out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal
the sick.

20. 10 When the apostles returned, they reported to
Jesus what they had done. Then he took them
with him and they withdrew by themselves to a
town called Bethsaida,

21. 11 but the crowds learned about it and
followed him. He welcomed them and spoke to
them about the kingdom of God, and healed
those who needed healing.

22. Jesus appoints 72 more disciples with
instructions to heal, deliver and declare the
kingdom of God.

others and sent them two by two ahead of him
to every town and place where he was about to

‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’ 10
But when you enter a town and are not
welcomed, go into its streets and say,

28. Rejecting the message will not stop god’s
kingdom from ruling.

29. God’s finger delivers from demonic oppression
and declares god’s kingdom has come.

30. 14 Jesus was driving out a demon that was
mute. When the demon left, the man who had
been mute spoke, and the crowd was amazed. 15
But some of them said, “By Beelzebul, the prince
of demons, he is driving out demons.”

31. 16 Others tested him by asking for a sign from
heaven. 17 Jesus knew their thoughts and said to
them: “Any kingdom divided against itself will
be ruined, and a house divided against itself
will fall.

that I drive out demons by Beelzebul. 19 Now if I
drive out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your
