  3. NextEra Energy is a leader in clean energy. In the competitive energy business, NextEra stands for clean energy. NextERA has invested - and will continue to invest - in a clean-energy tomorrow for future generations. NextEra Energy Nuclear fleet operates at five sites: the Seabrook Station, a 1,246-megawatt pressurized water reactor located in New Hampshire; the Duane Arnold Energy Center, a 615-megawatt boiling water reactor located in Iowa; Point Beach Nuclear Plant, a 1,023-megawatt pressurized water reactor, in Wisconsin;Turkey Point is a 1,386 megawatt pressurized water reactor located 25 miles south of Miami, Florida; St Lucie, located in Florida, has Two Combustion Engineering Pressurized Water Reactors with a net electrical output of 1,678 megawatts located on Hutchinson Island.NextEra Energy is the largest generator of wind and solar power in North America with more than 125 facilities in operation in 24 states and Canada.

Together we can achieve this mission through honoring the core principles.NextEra Energy has identified 12 core principles that guide how business is done. These core principles are evident in the work practices, processes and throughout the culture at NextEra Energy. The 12 core principles are Operationally focused, Engaged employees, Passion for excellence, Effective long-range planning, Engaged leaders, Strong teamwork, Standardized processes, Strong ownership and accountability, Responsive to stakeholders, Effective supervisors, Effective workforce planning and Work life balance. As we work with NextEra energy it is imperative that we also accept these as core principles and integrate them into how we work.As a strategic focus NextEra has four areas of emphasis: Operational Success, Organizational Effectiveness, Generation Reliability and Effective Business & Financial Performance. You may be asking yourself, why would I need to know this. It is important to know the nuclear excellence model to help understand what NextEra Energy values and how to work more effectively to support those values. Day & Zimmermann and NextEra Energy value nuclear excellence.
