El 21 de octubre de 1520, descubrió un cabo detrás del cual se divisaba una gran entrada de mar. Al cabo lo bautizó como “de las Once mil
Vírgenes”. El 1 de noviembre de 1520, luego de explorar la entrada de mar, Magallanes entró al estrecho al que llamó “de Todos los Santos”

Al navegarlo, contempló en la ribera sur grandes fogatas que desprendían mucho humo, las cuales se producían por la cantidad inmensa de gas
natural que emanaba en esa zona a la que los aborígenes habían prendido fuego en algún momento para hacer sus rituales mágicos. La bautizó
como “Tierra de los Fuegos”.

poca altura, desprovistas de árboles y con una miserable vegetación herbácea, rocas áridas y peladas, y un cielo limpio y seco, fue todo lo que vieron en la

Desde que pasaron la segunda angostura, el paisaje cambiaba como por encanto. Montañas más elevadas, con cimas cubiertas de nieve y con un suelo
humedecido por lluvias frecuentes, ostentaban una lujosa vegetación de árboles y yerbas. Este cambio de paisaje causó una agradable sorpresa a los

NAVEGACIÓN ISLAS MAGDALENA Y MARTA
Navegamos diariamente por el Estrecho de Magallanes
hacia las Islas Magdalena y Marta. La Isla Magdalena
recibe a más de 60.000 pingüinos cada año e Isla Marta
alberga a más de 1.500 lobos marinos. Comenzamos con
esta inigualable aventura, después del check in en nues-
tra oficina, nos dirigimos hacia Bahía Laredo en transfer
para embarcarnos hacia Isla Magdalena, donde desem-
barcaremos 1 hora junto a nuestro guía para conocer el
hábitat natural de los Pingüinos Magallánicos, en la
colonia más grande de Chile. Continuamos nuestra trave-
sía hasta Isla Marta para avistar Lobos Marinos (si las
condiciones climáticas lo permiten), cormoranes imperia-
les y cientos de gaviotas australes. Luego retorno al
muelle y a Punta Arenas. También tendremos la oportuni-
dad si la suerte nos acompaña de poder avistar Delfines
Australes, Toninas Overas y Ballenas Sei.

Magdalena and Marta Islands Navigation
We sail across the Strait of Magellan to the Magdalena and Marta Islands. Magdalena
Island receives more than 60,000 penguins each year and Marta Island is home for more
than 1,500 sea lions. We start with this adventure, after checking in at our office, we go to
Laredo Bay in a transfer, to get the speedboats for for 45 minutes to Magdalena Island,
where we land for 1 hour with our guide to know the natural habitat of the Magellanic
Penguins, which is one of one of the largest colonies in Chile. We continue our journey to
Marta Island (if the weather conditions are good) to see sea lions, imperial cormorants,
Antarctic Terns and hundreds of Dolphin Gull, if we are lucky we can also see Southern
Dolphins, Piebald Dolphin and Sei Whales. Then return to the pier and to Punta Arenas.

Cabo Froward, el Punto más Austral del mundo Continental,
Glaciares, Ballenas Jorobadas, Ballenas Sei, Delfines Austra-
les, Toninas Overas, Pingüinos Magallánicos son parte de las
maravillas naturales de esta Austral zona del Estrecho de
Magallanes y Tierra del Fuego.
En uno de los lugares más remotos y prístinos del planeta.
Una travesía de día completo nos hará sentir la naturaleza en
su estado más natural, saliendo muy temprano desde nues-
tras oficinas, recorreremos en bus hasta nuestro embarque a
50 Kilómetros al sur de Punta Arenas, para luego navegar por
espacio de 10 horas: Una travesía imperdible donde podre-
mos disfrutar de un paisaje único rodeado de montañas,
glaciares y bosques de lengas y coihues. La vida marina
presente en la zona no nos dejara de sorprender por su cerca-
nía y abundancia: lobos marinos, petreles, cormoranes,
delfines australes, etc. Nos harán sentir que aquí la naturaleza
se siente y se vive.

Froward Cape the Southernmost Point of the Continental World, where Glaciers, Humpback Whales, Sei Whales, Austral
Dolphins, Toninas Overas, Magellanic Penguins are part of the natural wonders of this Southern zone of the Strait of Mage-
llan and Tierra del Fuego. One of the most remote and pristine places on the planet. A full day excursion will make us feel
nature in its most natural state, leaving very early from our offices, we will travel by bus to Carrera Bay 50 kilometers south of
Punta Arenas. An unforgettable journey where we can enjoy a unique landscape surrounded by mountains, glaciers and
forests of lengas and coihues. The marine life present in the area will surprise us because of its proximity and abundance of

por el legendario Estrecho de Magallanes, en el trans-
curso de la navegación podremos contemplar el punto
más austral del continente Americano llamado Cabo
Froward. Luego llegaremos al sector del Parque
Marino Francisco Coloane donde desembarcaremos
los Kayaks para iniciar nuestra aventura de poder
remar junto con las ballenas jorobadas.
Una travesía imperdible donde podremos disfrutar de
un paisaje único rodeado de montañas, glaciares y
bosques de lengas y coihues. La vida marina presente
en la zona no nos dejará de sorprender por su cercanía
y abundancia: lobos marinos, petreles, cormoranes,
delfines australes, etc.

Nuestro campamento es el punto de interacción entre la zona
más austral del continente americano y los fiordos y glaciares
que albergan uno de los ecosistemas más vírgenes del planeta.
Lodge Cabo Froward, único en su tipo, está compuesto por una
base flotante que servirá de espacio común y comedor para
nuestros visitantes y 6 carpas canadienses con capacidad para
alojar a 12 personas, todos ellos habilitados para una estadía
cómoda y placentera, donde podrá sentir y vivir Patagonia en su
estado más natural. Ubicado al sur de Punta Arenas, en la Bahía
Bouchage, protegido por el Estrecho de Magallanes, donde
podrá disfrutar de diferentes actividades, sintiendo la naturale-
za desde su lado más salvaje; como kayakismo y navegación por
los alrededores, observación de flora y fauna, trekking a la Cruz
de los Mares en Cabo Froward, buceo, observación de ballenas y
fauna marina. Nuestro campamento es sin duda una experien-
cia única e inolvidable que hará de su estadía en él, lo mejor de
su aventura por el sur del sur de Chile.

A 75 kms al norte de Punta Arenas nuestra ruta es una inmersión inolvidable a la extensa pampa patagónica, sometida
a fuertes vientos todo el año y caracterizada por bajas temperaturas y vegetación arbustiva. Siente la experiencia única
de fotografiar en su ambiente natural a especies de aves y mamíferos silvestres tales como: Guanacos, Zorro Culpeo y
gris, liebres, Avestruces americanas llamadas Ñandu, flamencos, Cisnes de Cuello Negro y otras más discretas como el
Armadillo Piche y Peludo, el Chingue, el afamado Cóndor y otras rapaces como águilas Moras, etc.Visitaremos la colonia
de cóndores más grande de la Patagonia chilena, ubicada a 78 km de Punta Arenas, donde después de una caminata
liviana, llegaremos a los pies del paredón de rocas que sirve como refugio para los cóndores. ¡Un viaje sorprendente a
través de nuestra vida silvestre!
Esta excursión de 5 horas es una espectacular opción para los días de viento que impidan navegar para visitar las
colonias de Pingüinos de Magallanes y lobos de mar en las Islas Magdalena y Marta.

Bahía Carrera, navegaremos por el Estrecho de Magallanes, ruta de la primera circunnavegación alrededor del mundo
realizada por Fernando de Magallanes. observaremos el
Faro San Isidro, seguiremos el viaje hasta llegar al Cabo
Froward en donde en la cima del peñón destaca la Cruz
de los Mares, que simboliza el punto más austral del
continente Americano. La navegación continuara hasta
el Parque Marino Francisco Coloane, en donde visitare-
mos Islote Rupert, se pueden avistar Pingüinos Magallá-
nicos, Albatros de ceja negra, Petreles gigantes, Jotes de
cabeza colorada, Skúas y más. Luego navegaremos al
Seno Helado donde disfrutaremos de un whisky con
hielo milenario mientras observaremos dos glaciares de
la Isla Santa Inés

In Estancia Río de los Ciervos we have a large Magellan quincho,

Dentro de nuestras especialidades, se encuentra la cocina
elaborada sobre la base de productos típicos de la región,

CABALGATAS / Horseback Riding
Comenzaremos con un recorrido a la casa Patronal Don
Arturo y sus instalaciones. Luego el video pionero y la
muestra histórica “José Montes” que introduce a nues-
tros visitantes
a la historia de la colonización de la región de Magalla-
nes para finalizar con la visita a la Pulpería, un antiguo
almacén. La experiencia se puede complementar con un
exquisito almuerzo o cena en nuestras dependencias.
We will start with the tour by visiting the manor hause
“Don Arturo”, then we will watch an introductory video
about the life of the pioneers and the historical exhibition
“José Montes” that introduces our visitors to the history of
the colonization of the Magallanes region, to end we will
visit the Pulpería, an old warehouse. The tour can include
lunch or dinner in the Estancia.

PESCA CON MOSCA EN TORRES DEL PAINE
Disfruta de la pesca con mosca en uno de los lugares más
asombrosos del planeta, el Parque Nacional Torres del
Paine. Esta excursión se realizará entre ríos y lagos que
rodean este parque nacional. Navegaremos y pescare-
mos por el río Serrano o caminaremos por senderos poco
explorados para llegar a los lugares de pesca. Contamos

All the main attractions together in one day to enjoy and
visit Torres del Paine national Park. In this all day excursion,
we will visit the grey area, where we will observe the
icebergs that came from the glacier of the same name. At
noon we will visit the salto Grande waterfall, natural
connection water connection between Nordenskjold and
Pehoélakes,thenwewillmovetoeasttoobservethebeauty
of Laguna Azul, then, after having a picnic lunch in an
amazing spot that looks the three towers, we will return to
the hotel staring at the typical fauna and Patagonian
steppe.

En los primeros días de noviembre, Fernando de Magallanes, recorrió la prolongación de la costa de la península de Brunswick, hasta el cabo Froward observando allí
que el estrecho tomaba una dirección hacia el noroeste y esperó durante cinco días mientras las otras dos naves exploraban el canal oriental sin encontrarle salida.

Esta excursión comienza en vehículo desde nuestro hotel
hacia el sector de las Torres, desde donde comienza
nuestra caminata. Comenzamos a caminar bordeando la
ladera del Monte Almirante Nieto, ascenderemos esta
montaña por 2 horas hasta llegar al refugio “El Chileno”,
aquí descansaremos y luego continuaremos caminando
entre un frondoso bosque magallánico para cruzar el
Valle Ascencio, hasta llegar a la morrena glaciar, donde
comienza el último tramo del sendero. Ascenderemos la
morrena por alrededor de una hora para finalmente
llegar a los pies de las majestuosas Torres del Paine.
Después de haber disfrutado de esta inolvidable
experiencia, comenzaremos el regreso por el mismo
sendero, tomar nuestro transporte y retornar a nuestro
hotel.
This excursion begins by vehicle from our hotel to the Torres
sector, from where our trek begins. We start walking along
the hillside of Mount Almirante Nieto, we will ascend this
mountain for 2 hours until we reach the “El Chileno” refuge,
here we will rest and then continue walking through a lush
MagellanicforesttocrosstheAscencioValley,untilwereach
the glacier moraine, where the last section of the trail
begins. We will ascend the moraine for about an hour to
finally reach the foot of the majestic Torres del Paine. After
enjoying this unforgettable experience, we will begin the

TREKKING VALLE FRANCÉS
Excursión hacia el corazón del parque nacional. Por la mañana
nos trasladamos con nuestro transporte hasta el sector de
Pudeto, en este lugar abordaremos un catamarán y cruzare-
mos navegando el majestuoso Lago Pehoe para llegar al
refugio Paine Grande. Desde este lugar caminaremos
bordeando la montaña Paine Grande, hasta llegar al campa-
mento italiano en medio del Valle Francés. Seguiremos ascen-
diendo a través del valle y la morrena glaciar hasta llegar al
mirador francés. Por un costado del valle observaremos y
apreciaremos la inmensidad de la montaña Paine Grande
acompañada del Glaciar colgante Frances, y por el otro lado
del Valle, los famosos Cuernos del Paine. Luego de haber
disfrutado de esta maravillosa vista, comenzaremos nuestro
descenso por el mismo sendero, abordaremos nuevamente el
catamarán y tomaremos nuestro transporte para volver al
hotel.
Excursion to the heart of the national park. In the
morning we move with our transport to the Pudeto
sector, in this place we will board a catamaran and
cross sailing the majestic Lake Pehoe to reach the
Paine Grande refuge. From this place we will walk
along the Paine Grande mountain, until we reach
the Italian camp in the middle of the French Valley.
We will continue ascending through the valley and
the glacial moraine until we reach the French
viewpoint. On one side of the valley we will observe
and appreciate the immensity of the Paine Grande
mountain accompanied by the hanging French
Glacier, and on the other side of the Valley, the
famous Cuernos del Paine. After having enjoyed this
wonderful view, we will begin our descent along the
same path, board the catamaran again and take
our transportation to return to the hotel.

Ven y vive con nosotros la aventura de buscar y cono-
cer en su hábitat natural la Fauna Silvestre de la
Patagonia. Cruzaremos con nuestro transporte el
parque Nacional Torres del Paine para llegar a la
Estepa Patagónica, el lugar más seco y árido del
Parque Nacional, en donde habitan y conviven los
principales mamíferos de la Región, acompañados de
una gran variedad de aves residentes y migratorias.
Nos moveremos por dentro y fuera del parque nacio-
nal en la búsqueda de pumas, guanacos, zorros,
además de grandes aves como cóndores, ñandúes,
águilas y flamencos.
Patagonia Fauna Safari
Come and live with us the adventure of searching and
knowing in its natural habitat the Wild Fauna of
Patagonia. We will cross with our transport the Torres
delPaineNationalParktoreachthePatagonianSteppe,
the driest and arid place in the National Park, where the
main mammals of the Region live and coexist, accom-
panied by a great variety of resident and migratory
birds. We will move inside and outside the national park
in search of pumas, guanacos, foxes, as well as large
birds such as condors, rheas, eagles and flamingos.

DE LA PATAGONIA
Exploración en medio de la estepa patagónica
que permite conocer la fauna típica de la zona,
dentro de las que se destacan la observación de
guanacos, cóndores, zorros y eventualmente
pumas. En la mitad de este sendero, apreciare-
mos conglomerados de rocas que son testigos
del último periodo glaciar y donde tendremos la
posibilidad de apreciar unas pinturas rupestres,
obras de arte elaboradas por los primeros
habitantes de la Patagonia y quedaron impresas
en estas rocas.
Rupestian Paintings
Exploration in the middle of the Patagonian steppe
that allows to know the typical fauna of the area,
among which are the observation of guanacos,
condors, foxes and eventually pumas. In the middle of
this path, we will appreciate conglomerates of rocks
that are witnesses of the last glacier period and where
we will have the possibility to appreciate some cave
paintings, works of art made by the first inhabitants
of Patagonia and today stay printed on these rocks.

del Paine”. Comenzamos esta excursión en transporte
desde nuestro hotel para llegar a la cascada Salto Grande.

mos a este fascinante mirador donde apreciaremos
frente a nosotros los Cuernos del Paine, formación de
roca de sedimento y granito en el corazón del macizo
Paine y a los pies del Lago Nordenskjold.
Cuernos del Paine Viewpoint
Enjoy one of the most amazing viewpoints in Torres del Paine
National Park, the famous "Cuernos del Paine". We begin this
excursion by transport from our hotel to reach the Salto Grande
waterfall. After walking for about an hour, we will arrive at this
fascinating viewpoint where we will see in front of us the Cuernos
del Paine, sediment rock formation and granite in the heart of the
Paine massif and at the foot of Lake Nordenskjold.
MIRADOR CUERNOS DEL PAINE
Comenzamos esta excursión desde nuestro hotel hacia
el sector de Grey, caminaremos a través de la playa del
Lago Grey donde apreciaremos los témpanos de hielo
que se han desprendido del glaciar y llegan a esta playa
por el viento y quedan varados en medio del inmenso
Lago Grey. El sendero termina en un mirador al final de la
península, en medio de un bosque magallánico y con
una vista fabulosa del glaciar Grey de fondo.

We begin this excursion from our hotel to the Grey sector,
we will walk through the Grey Lake beach where we will
appreciate the ice floes that have come off the glacier and
reachthisbeachbythewindandarestrandedinthemiddle
of the immense Grey Lake . The trail ends at a viewpoint at
the end of the peninsula, in the middle of a Magellanic
forest and with a fabulous view of the Grey Glacier in the
background.

A través de una caminata de 45 minutos aproximada-
mente, llegaremos al Mirador Condor. Con una vista
privilegiada hacia el majestuoso Lago Pehoe localiza-
do en el corazón del parque nacional y con vistas al
imponente Macizo Paine. Desde este sendero,
también se pueden observar algunas condoreras y
eventualmente cóndores volando alrededor de este
mirador.
Condor Viewpoint
Through a walk of approximately 45 minutes, we will
arrive at Mirador Condor. With a privileged view of the
majestic Lake Pehoe located in the heart of the national
park and overlooking the imposing Paine Massif. From
this path, you can also see some condoreras and
eventually condors flying around this viewpoint.
MIRADOR CONDOR
A través de esta excursión, podrás disfrutar de uno
de los lugares más prístinos dentro del parque
nacional. Siguiendo la ruta del Rio Pingo por el
valle del mismo nombre, caminaremos y observa-
remos la flora que abunda este lugar, cruzaremos
bosques milenarios en medio de este valle glaciar
y llegaremos a una pequeña cascada rodeada de
una frondosa vegetación. Dentro de este valle
glaciar habita y eventualmente es posible ver el
Huemul, ciervo chileno que actualmente en
peligro de extinción.
Pingo Valley
Through this excursion, you will be able to enjoy one
of the most pristine places within the national park.
Following the route of the Rio Pingo through the
valley of the same name, we will walk and observe
the flora that abounds in this place, we will cross
ancient forests in the middle of this glacial valley and
we will reach a small waterfall surrounded by lush
vegetation. If we are lucky, it is possible... possible to
see the Huemul, a Chilean deer that is currently in
danger of extinction.

NAVEGACIÓN SALTO RÍO SERRANO
Con una ubicación privilegiada de nuestro Hotel frente al
Rio Serrano, comenzamos esta excursión desde nuestro
puerto. Navegaremos a través del rio para llegar al salto
del Río Serrano, aquí desembarcaremos y caminaremos
hacia un mirador donde observaremos la ruta del rio y
montañas con sus glaciares colgantes. Durante esta
navegación, cruzaremos la unión entre los ríos Serrano y
Grey, que muestra la diferencia de sedimentos y produce
un efecto especial en el color de las aguas.

With a privileged location of our Hotel in front of the
Serrano River, we begin this excursion from our port. We
will sail across the river to reach the Serrano River leap,
here we will disembark and walk to a viewpoint where we
will observe the route of the river and mountains with its
hanging glaciers. During this navigation, we will cross
the junction between the Serrano and Grey rivers, which
shows the difference in sediments and produces a special
effect on the colour of the waters.

Una real aventura, navegando a través del Río Serrano
para juntar a los parques nacionales“Torres del Paine”
y “Bernardo O’Higgins”. Navegaremos poco más de
una hora y llegaremos al parque nacional Bernardo
O´Higgins. En este lugar desembarcaremos y visitare-
mos el glaciar Serrano y cruzaremos navegando el
fiordo de Última Esperanza, para disfrutar un almuer-
zo típico de la Patagonia, después de haber disfrutado
del almuerzo, comenzaremos nuestro retorno al hotel
por la misma ruta del rio, o continuar viaje en catama-
rán hacia Puerto Natales. Durante esta navegación

Serrano Glacier Navigation
A real adventure, navigating through the Serrano River to
bring together the national parks "Torres del Paine" and
"Bernardo O’Higgins". We will sail just over an hour and arrive
at the Bernardo O'Higgins National Park. In this place we will
disembark and visit the Serrano Glacier and we will cross sailing the Last Hope Fjord, to enjoy a typical lunch of Patagonia, after
having enjoyed lunch, we will begin our return to the hotel by the same route of the river, or continue traveling in catamaran to
Puerto Natales. During this navigation we can observe at a distance the Tyndall Glacier, belonging to the Southern Ice Field.

con un recorrido de 52 kms al sur de la ciudad en donde se emplaza el histórico Fuerte Bulnes, fundado en

Navigation to Isla Magdalena and Marta (sighting of Magellanic penguins and sea lions), after this spectacular
journey through the Strait of Magellan we will head to Estancia Río de los Ciervos for an exquisite Patagonian
lunch, later we will visit to the cinematographer and museum of the Estancia. We will continue with a 52 km to
the south of the city where the historic Fort Bulnes is located, founded in 1843 as an attempt to colonize these
magical lands. Finally, we will return to Punta Arenas.

tro lado también podremos observar ballenas Sei delfines autrales, lobos marinos, pingüinos magallánicos y diversidad de

During the journey we will be able to photograph the sunrise in beautiful hues in Torres del Paine National Park.

por el Refugio Chileno y el Valle Ascencio, subiendo hasta la Base Torres, desde donde apreciaremos esta majestuosa
formación de granito, maravillados por el paisaje que nos rodea comenzamos el descenso por la misma ruta.
DIA 3 l Trekking Valle Francés
Traslado al sector de Pudeto para tomar el Catamarán que atraviesa el Lago Pehoé. Una vez en el refugio Paine Grande
comenzamos nuestra caminata bordeando la montaña del mismo nombre, cruzaremos por el Campamento Italiano y
bosques milenarios, en el Valle Francés, hasta llegar al mirador desde donde admiraremos el Glaciar colgante Francés
y los maravilloso Cuernos del Paine.
DIA 4 l Trekking Mirador Glaciar Grey
Traslado a playa Grey, para tomar la navegación al imponente Glaciar del mismo nombre. Desembarcaremos en el
refugio Grey, donde comenzaremos nuestra caminata hasta un mirador que nos permitirá apreciar el impresionante
glaciar desde su otra cara.

We begin our adventure with the transfer to Hotel del Paine, welcome, inductive talk, dinner and accommodation.
DAY 2 l Base Of The Towers Trekking
Transfer to the Torres sector, where the trek begins, we skirt the Mount Almirante Nieto, ascending we will cross
through the Chilean Refuge and the Ascencio Valley, going up to Base of the Towers, from where we will appreciate
this majestic granite formation, amazed by the landscape Around us we begin the descent along the same route.
Dinner and accommodation.
DAY 3 l French Valley Trekking
Transfer to the Pudeto sector to take the Catamaran that crosses Lake Pehoé. Once at the Paine Grande refuge we
begin our trek along the mountain of the same name, we will cross the Italian Camp and millenary forests, in the
French Valley, until we reach the viewpoint from where we will admire the French Hanging Glacier and the wonder-
ful Cuernos of the Paine. Return to hotel, dinner and overnight.
DAY 4 l Trekking Grey Glacier Viewpoint
Transfer to Grey Beach, to take the navigation to the Glacier of the same name. We will disembark at the Grey refuge,
where we will begin our walk to a viewpoint that will allow us to appreciate the impressive glacier from its other side.
Return to the hotel crossing by catamaran on Lake Pehoé, dinner and accommodation.
DAY 5 l Hotel del Paine - Punta Arenas

PESCA EN TORRES DEL PAINE

DIA 2 l Pesca Con Mosca
Comenzamos nuestro día navegando por el Río Serrano, contemplando ancestrales bosques patagónicos a la orilla de
este majestuoso río. Luego de la navegación nos dispondremos a pescar vadeando río arriba por unas 4 horas; truchas
Marrones y arcoíris son algunos de los ejemplares que habitan en esta área. Después del almuerzo tipo picnic volvere-
mos a pescar río abajo, hasta el punto de partida.
DIA 3 l Pesca Con Mosca
Comenzamos nuestra ruta en el Río Serrano hasta llegar a la Cascada Victoria, donde continuaremos caminando por
unos 30 minutos hasta una laguna donde habitan truchas marrones y arcoíris. Después de unas 4 horas de pesca regre-
samos al hotel para un almuerzo patagónico. Por la tarde navegaremos por el Río Serrano deteniéndonos entre varios
islotes en busca de mejores lugares de pesca.
Regreso a Punta Arenas.

trouts are some of the species that inhabit this area. After the picnic lunch we will return to fish down the river, to the

DAY 3 l Fly Fishing Day
We begin our route in the Serrano River to the Victoria Waterfall, where we will continue walking for about 30 minu-
testoalagoonwherebrownandrainbowtroutlive.Afterabout4hoursoffishingwereturntothehotelforaPatago-
nian lunch. In the afternoon we will navigate the Serrano River stopping between several islets in search of better
fishing places. Back to the hotel.
DAY 4 l Punta Arenas

Fondeamos y estuvimos cuatro días, durante ese tiempo se despachó una chalupa para ir a reconocer el término de este
canal. Regresaron al tercer día, anunciándonos que habían visto el cabo en que concluía el Estrecho, y un gran mar, esto
es, el Océano. Todos lloramos de alegría. Este cabo se llamó el Deseado, porque, en efecto, desde largo tiempo ansiába-
mos por verlo.
