10. Gaps
• Lack of standardised PND resources for
parents, especially fathers
• Lack of awareness of PND in fathers
• Leaflets often too wordy, and medicalised
• Information on PND not available in one
place:
Different websites
Some focus on mothers only, some on fathers,
? Reliable source

11. The PND Wheel
A guide to postnatal depression in mothers and
fathers
14. Feedback from Parents
Mother:
"It's definitely great......I didn't know
that dads suffer from it (postnatal
depression) as well, I always linked
it to the mums. Also having both
together (information about postnatal
depression in mothers and fathers)
is handy because it does go hand in
hand"
15. Father:
"I find it very inclusive, it covers a
wide range of things, it has very
helpful information about how your
relationship could change, how you
can be isolated. It tells you how
you can look after yourself."
16. Feedback from Health
Professionals
Student Health Visitor Mental Health Nurse
Senior Manager
“I really like it
because it is easy
to understand”
It is an invaluable
tool for detecting
postnatal
depression
It is innovative, inclusive & an
ideal way of getting mothers &
fathers to talk about how they
are feeling…
