The document discusses the Inner Sydney Regional Bike Network (ISRBN), which would cover 15 local government areas within a 10 km radius of Sydney's central business district, totaling 284 km of bike routes. It notes that the population and jobs in Sydney are projected to significantly increase by 2031. The ISRBN aims to achieve a network effect to realize a step change in bike use. A 2010 study found the ISRBN had benefits that were 3.88 times its costs, including decongestion, travel time savings, and health benefits from increased biking. Next steps include updating the network plan and business case for approval.

Network Effect
The ISRBN aims to achieve a network
effect with sufficient scale and density to
realise a step change in use, increasing

Transport and Main Roads estimated net benefits of $1.43 per
kilometre cycled including $1.12 in health benefits where cycling
