Wynyard Station in Sydney underwent construction to expand its layout while remaining operational. Pedestrian modelling of the station was conducted during construction planning to identify potential risks and safety issues. Multiple studies were done using different pedestrian modelling software to understand pedestrian flows during construction stages. Lessons were learned around appreciating the time needed for such studies. The presentation discussed applying pedestrian modelling techniques to future construction projects involving shopping centers, stadiums, airports, bus stations, and other rail infrastructure and public spaces.
