Project: ICB Ring-Fencing Programme – Independent Commission on Banking (ICB) recommended ring fencing in its final report published in
Sept 2011, the principles for which were then passed into legislation by UK Parliament. Ring fencing is designed to protect the economy from
crisis in global financial system. It does so by separating retail and deposit banking products and services from riskier activities across the
financial markets (Investment Bank). As a result, the bank is responding by creating separate legal entities for each - Investment Bank (NRFB)
and rest of the Bank (RFB) and therefore, the need for a clear demarcation of Customers, Products, Services and underlying IT or Shared
Systems (Core Banking, Payments, Treasury, Finance, Risk, AML, KYC etc.). This will help in maintaining or assessing the financial position of
each of the legal entities separately within (RFB) or outside the ring fence (NRFB).

changes or distributed finance ledger or wallets
 Involved in architecture/design governance process (Technical Design Authority) for reviewing the requirements specs or change
requests and their impact on underlying architecture/design as well as reviewing/assessing the design presented by various franchises

Ring fencing is designed to protect the economy from crisis in global financial system. It does so by separating retail and deposit banking products and services from riskier activities across the financial markets (Investment Bank). As a result, the bank is responding by creating separate legal entities for each - Investment Bank (NRFB) and rest of the Bank (RFB) and therefore, the need for a clear demarcation of Customers, Products, Services and underlying IT or Shared Systems (Core Banking, Payments, Treasury, Finance, Risk, AML, KYC etc.).
