of the geographical area. Thus the Forest and Tree Cover of the Haryana state
is 6.49% of its geographical area.
6. FLORAAND FAUNA
Thorny, dry, deciduous forest and thorny shrubs can be found all over the
state. During the monsoon, a carpet of grass covers the hills. Mulberry,
eucalyptus, pine, kikar, shisham and babul are some of the trees found here.
The species of fauna found in the state of Haryana include black buck, nilgai,
panther, fox, mongoose, jackal and wild dog

1. KURUKSHETRA ; The land is hallowed for being the zone for the
Kurukshetra War of Mahabharata and also the founding place of Lord
Krishna’s brainchild, Bhagavad Gita. It is a religious tourist attraction. It is
also sacred place for hindus
2. PANIPAT ; is an ancient and historic city in Haryana, India. It is 90 km north
of Delhi and 169 km south of Chandigarh on NH-1. Ram Lal Chowk situated in the heart of
the city is well known for its spicy, traditional and cultural food all over the world. There is a
famous statue of Ram Lal Chopra at the centre of the chowk. He was the founder of the
modern day newspaper 'Punjab Kesari'. 1526, 1556 and 1761 were turning points in Indian
history. The city is famous in India by the name of "City of Weavers" and "Textile City". It is
also known as the "cast-off capital" due to being "the global centre for recycling textiles".[1]
11. SULTANPUR NATIONAL PARK
is very popular national park located in Gurugram district in Haryana State.
Sultanpur is located 40 kilometres (25 mi) from Dhaula Kuan in Delhi and 15
kilometres (9.3 mi) from Gurugram
Formely known as sultanpur bird santuary
Every year more than 100 migratory bird species arrive at Sultanpur in search of feeding
grounds and to pass the winter
12. Kalesar National Park is a protected area
in Yamunanagar district of Haryana, India, 150 kilometres
(93 mi) from Chandigarh.[1] It is a popular destination
for Leopard and bird-watching.[2] It is home to the red
jungle fowl among other birds.
