Caring requires each of us to renew our energy. One of the ways we do this is by establishing a "quiet place" on each unit where we can reflect on what we need at that moment, whether it is nourishment for the body or food for the soul.

Intent to Contribute Statement:
Here at Kaiser San Rafael we strive for equanimity both in our relationship to
ourselves, patients, co-workers, and visitors. We have established huddles before every shift
to establish communication teamwork, and goodwill. Caring requires each of us to renew our
energy. One of the ways we do this is by establishing a "quiet place" on each unit where we
can reflect on what we need at that moment, whether it is nourishment for the body or food
for the soul. Other times it is to seek inner peace amidst the stress on the unit. Many
moments are spent in self reflection. This is done by looking at "The Man In The Mirror"
perhaps having those moments that you are looking at yourself, you are able to say the right
thing at the right time and make a life changing event a smooth transition.
