sectors:
- Sport
- Fitness
- Outdoor recreation
- Community recreation

1. The sport sector
Sporting programs in Australia range from community sporting
clubs and association to professional organisations.
Community clubs and associations make up a big proportion
of the industry.
Department of sport and recreation (DSR) is the state
government body responsible for governing sport in WA.
Australian Sports Commission (ASC) is federal government
body that governs sport in Australia.
Local government (shires) work closely with clubs and
associations.

Professional sport (AFL, NBL, NRL) generate significant money
for sport through attendance and television rights.
There is a national and state sporting association for most
sports in Australia .

governing body for community recreation facilities and
programs.
