KVH Tokyo Otemachi Data Center (TODC) is located in Tokyo s central
business district, providing a highly convenient and easily accessible data
center facility for businesses operating in Japan.
Purposely designed to meet the high security needs of customers with mission-
critical data, KVH TODC is a seismically isolated earthquake-resistant structure,
allowing the building to withstand major earthquakes up to a magnitude of 7 on
the Japanese Meteorological Agency seismic scale. The security measures
implemented at KVH TODC correspond to Tier IV or the highest rank in
accordance with the Facility Standard of the Japan Data Center Council, and
include surveillance camera monitoring, IC card verifications, and biometric
authentication systems.
The data center is installed with UPS and emergency gas turbine generators in
(N+1) configuration and a fuel reserve for 72 hours of operations in case of
long blackout failures. The air conditioning system also has a (N+1)
configuration with a standby system for uninterrupted assurance of stabilized
room temperature and humidity. The ceiling height is set at 5,000-6,000mm to
optimize air conditioning efficiency while contributing to reductions in carbon
dioxide emissions.
Due to its prime location, KVH TODC offers direct connectivity to Internet
exchanges in the Otemachi area to enable telecommunications services
providers, IT companies, financial institutions and other enterprises to process
large volumes of data at high speeds.
KVH s data centers throughout the Asia Pacific region are a key part of KVH s
information delivery platform, which combines data center services with an
extensive range of network services, managed IT services, and robust cloud
solutions to enable multinational customers to establish IT service hubs that
support their business in Asia. All KVH data center services are supported by
