BFI Film Academy/Work Placement
BFI, Tyneside Cinema
I learnt many skills relating to the film industry, including how to work different cameras, how to
record sound and how to edit using different pieces of software. The Film Academy helped me
with my confidence, teamwork skills and leadership skills, as I was given the chance to be assistant
director on a small production.
I also used the film academy as my work placement, or at least some of it, so that it was easier to
get some of my hours through.
Overall, the academy has increased a lot of my skills and has given me more confidence to work in
the film industry and I am grateful for the opportunity I was given.
