•Their use was first proposed by Chris Messina in a 2007 tweet ,although initially decried by Twitter as a
"thing for nerds" ,eventually led to their use rapidly becoming widespread throughout the platform.
•Messina’s suggestion to use them was not adopted by Twitter, but the practice took off after they were
widely used in tweets relating to the 2007 San Diego forest fires in Southern California.
•According to Messina, he suggested it to make it easy for "lay" users to search for content and find specific
relevant updates; they were for people who do not have the technological knowledge to navigate the site.
Therefore, the X "was created organically by Twitter users as a way to categorize messages."

It was introduced to “soothe people intimidated by the operating system” and it also proved
useful in familiarizing people with the drag and drop technique.
However by the mid1990s it was being reported that employees were spending 5 hours a week
doing this and as a result causing approximately 10 billion dollar loss in revenue.
A US senator even introduced a budget amendment in 1997 seeking to ban this feature from all
Federal government computers. What?

Growing up in a rural town, northeast of Kyoto, he didn't have any toys or TV so he would spend his time

•Elliot Alderson is a French developer and cyber security expert. In August 2019 presented a talk during the
DefCon by Appsec Village titled “ History of the worst Android App ever :-------”
•Alderson went on to mention a host of issues with application, the mobile security practices and most
importantly, how third party websites are using the data. In response to being repeatedly asked on Twitter
about his intentions to expose X-related mobile and cyber security vulnerabilities, Alderson wrote, “I want
to say something. I’m not against X. Not that I’m in favour of X. I just think that a project of this size
deserves maximum security”
•The ‘developers’ of the application called Alderson’s revelations and the subsequent media reports
“irresponsible” and “far from the truth” and reiterated that there had not been a single breach from

19. Q9
A very interesting example, but demonstrating the importance of supercomputer product design lies in the
collaboration of Procter & Gamble with X.
When they came to P&G, X said that they produced them too quickly, that they flew out of the production
line. It sounds like a joke, but it is a major obstacle in their operation. They have a very fast production line
,so much so that they catch the wind and fly out and fall into a pile and they have to throw it away which is
very wasteful .
To solve this problem, P&G used supercomputers to study the aerodynamic properties of ------ ------ and to
make sure that they wouldn’t break when being stacked on top of each other. Which hyperbolic paraboloid
product was designed with the help of supercomputers?

compulsion loops are known to contribute towards video game addiction and are frequently compared to
gambling addiction.
• This is in part due to the use of a "variable-rate reinforcement schedule" similar to how slot machines dole
out prizes. While many players may never invest real-world money in a ---- --- system, such addictive
systems can bring large monetary investments from "whales", players who are willing to spend large
amounts of money on virtual items.
•Gambling concerns are heightened in games that offer ---- ----- and are known to be played by children.

On March 26,1976 a ‘first of sorts’ occurred at a research centre in Mavern, England. Peter Kirstein was the
man responsible for assisting the person and aptly assigned them the ‘codename’ “hme2” and thus
becoming one of the first ones to do so.
However earlier this year , the statements by a certain individual who claimed to have done this back in
1987 created controversy with twitter users pointing out that the facilities weren’t available until 1995.

The reason for the recent decision by this company has met with criticisms from a lot of enthusiasts , many
of whom have claimed that it is a massive oversight on the part of the company.
While in most countries such as the US it is open for public use ,Indian government’s decision to not
delicense the 60 MHz band is rooted in a stalemate with Indian telcos. Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea and
Reliance Jio Infocomm want the E and V bands, which include 60 MHz, to be auctioned, not delicensed.

While devices powered by the OS have been available in the market only since mid2017 the OS itself is
forked from B2G OS (Boot to Gecko OS), an open source community-driven fork of Firefox OS, which was
discontinued by Mozilla in 2016.
It’s emergence has led to the growth of a new category of devices — smart feature phones. The main

become the 3rd most popular mobile OS behind only Android and iOS. Name the OS and What was
launched in August 2017?
