A professional Chemical Engineer with more than 18 years of experience in Oil & Gas sector in
Technical Services, R&D ,Operations, process, oil movement and currently Asphalt blowing
unit(AABU) work function with top AAA ranking companies in first Pakistan Refinery Limited
and second one PARCO the largest oil refinery. Skills like creativity, adaptability, dedication,
integrity, problem resolving, decision making, leadership, expert in computer applications and
presentation have earned me excellent opportunities to work in variety of roles. Currently,
associated with Pak Arab Refinery Ltd. (A joint venture by Pakistan, IPIC- Abu-Dhabi & OMV
Austria) and investment of about US $ 886 million.
Now, I am working as Group Head (Asphalt air blowing unit)-Chemical engineer in U&OM
Department. My major responsibilities are as under; but not limited to the following.
Specialties:
• Process Monitoring, Troubleshooting & Optimization.
• Process Modifications & Feasibility Studies.
• Review of operating manual and P&ID during erection phases/
preconditioning/commissioning.
• Active participation in Pr-commissioning/commissioning activities during master start up of
CDU

• Project Pre-Commissioning / Commissioning Activities
AABU project:
Actively involve start up & shut down of unit.
MAIN CAREER ACHIEVEMENTS/ APPRECIATION:
• Prepared, developed & implemented on line live Dynamic Process dynamics overviews.
for good unit monitoring. Preparation of SOP for the safe execution of catalyst loading of Kero
Merox Reactor.
• Many times performed replacement activity of activated carbon from (820-V58) at SRU (U-
820).
• Development of new QRI software. With help of this system, reduced frequency of
repeated QRI’s.
• Monitoring of shutdown and startup of unit. Calculation of shutdown loses after a power
dip failure
• Reviewed operating manuals, Process Flow Diagram (PFD) and Process & Instrument
Diagram (P&ID).
• Member of Turnaround team for Turn Around 2002(OCT-2002) and 2007 (March-12 to
April-12, 2007
• Conducting no. of (CR studies) regarding to optimization, cost effective

RESPONSIBILITIES AS GROUP HEAD AT ABBU UNIT: 30 AUGUST-2013 TO DATE
• To comply with company’s vision statement, mission statement, HSEQ Policy & IMS
standards in all respect while performing operational activities at plant.
• Review log book, job summary, labortary analysis etc. & giving feed back to high-ups
regarding operational progress & operational, maintenance & administrative issues of plant.
• Conducting meetings to evaluate operational, administrative & maintenance issues of
plant.
• AABU Load management to ensure availability of feed material & product keeping in view
marketing demand and to ensure safe & smooth operation.
• Scheduling and planning about shut down and startup of AABU.
• To ensure minimum inventory of asphalt either filled in drums or bowzers in all grades as
defined by M&C are available all time to fulfill marketing demand.
• Coordination with senior management in senior management audit.
• Preparing and implementing HSE improvement plan.
• To fill yearly appraisal (PMP) performance of AABU staff based on their operational,
behaviour & assignments.
• To maintain quality of product during plant operation & ensure in time delivery of product &
maximum product dispatch.
• To run SAP to raise notifications of plant either for routine or critical job.
• Raising IRS/QRIS for safety related/quality related issues in plant.
• Conduct IMS audit and record keeping.
• Preparation of bar charts for scheduling and planning of maintenance activities.
• Coordinate in development of JSA with HSE.
• To cross check attendance record of AABU contractor labour & verifying invoice for gantry
services.
• Raising analysis request for special samples & coordinating labortary staff for sampling
and follow up their results.

be presented in TRCs.

BRIEF CAREER HISTORY (18 YEARS)PRESENTLY RESPONSIBILITIES AS GROUP HEAD AT ABBU UNIT: 30 AUGUST-2013 TO DATE • To comply with company’s vision statement, mission statement, HSEQ Policy & IMS standards in all respect while performing operational activities at plant. • Review log book, job summary, labortary analysis etc. & giving feed back to high-ups regarding operational progress & operational, maintenance & administrative issues of plant. • Conducting meetings to evaluate operational, administrative & maintenance issues of plant. • AABU Load management to ensure availability of feed material & product keeping in view marketing demand and to ensure safe & smooth operation. • Scheduling and planning about shut down and startup of AABU. • To ensure minimum inventory of asphalt either filled in drums or bowzers in all grades as defined by M&C are available all time to fulfill marketing demand. • Coordination with senior management in senior management audit. • Preparing and implementing HSE improvement plan. • To fill yearly appraisal (PMP) performance of AABU staff based on their operational, behaviour & assignments. • To maintain quality of product during plant operation & ensure in time delivery of product & maximum product dispatch. • To run SAP to raise notifications of plant either for routine or critical job. • Raising IRS/QRIS for safety related/quality related issues in plant. • Conduct IMS audit and record keeping. • Preparation of bar charts for scheduling and planning of maintenance activities. • Coordinate in development of JSA with HSE. • To cross check attendance record of AABU contractor labour & verifying invoice for gantry services. • Raising analysis request for special samples & coordinating labortary staff for sampling and follow up their results. • Technical evaluation of chemicals from vendors. • To raise CR for operational improvement in area and to collect relavant data, material to be presented in TRCs. • To attend TSR meetings with all stake holders. • To coordinate with ESD about CR package,design packages and for HAZOP approval and follow up till implementing modification in plant. • To attend kick-off meeting with contractors before start of modification job. • Supervise the modification job, ensuring that all safety & MCR standards are met. • Coordinate in making budget as budget coordinator for both capital and revenue budgets.
