This document discusses using social media tools for educators. It provides an overview of popular tools like Twitter, Pinterest, and LinkedIn and evaluates which has been most useful. 3. WHICH TOOL HAS BEEN THE MOST USEFUL
The networking tool that I found the most useful
was Twitter. Prior to this course I had a Twitter
account but had never used it. I believed that it
didn’t have value for me as an educator.

 And the most important-Ability to connect with
professionals that would be otherwise unattainable

 Using Twitter to connect with the best literacy
professionals
 Creating an accessible Pinterest board with
ideas for parents that can be changed and
updated throughout the year
 Compiling and organizing bookmarks so that
they are user friendly for myself and
colleagues

5. CHALLENGES WITH LINKEDIN
 Connecting with colleagues and other
professionals through LinkedIn. My email
was not compatible with the connections
search engine which made it very
challenging to build a network.
 I also found the website very challenging to
navigate. It was especially difficult to use on
mobile devices.

6. MOODLE AND ONLINE LEARNING
 This is my second course using Moodle and I
found it very easy to use.
 Online learning offers the flexibility that is
necessary for educators.
 By taking this course online, I was able to
engage even more in the technology and
explore what it had to offer.
