With International Womens Day fast approaching, I thought it fitting to share my story on the everlasting impact Lisa Messenger's Collective Hub has had on my personal + professional development.
2. 2015: An Encounter With George
I was inspired from the moment I came across
Issue 17 featuring George Clooney.
I’d finished another day at the office and was
looking to kill time on my train ride home with
my usual Harper’s Bazaar pick up.
Then I met Collective Hub.
Flicking through the pages, I was amazed at
how even from the surface, the words and
stories on each page seemed to ignite
something in me I hadn’t felt for a long time.
3. 2015: To Be Daring + Disruptive
Not long after, I bought my ticket to Daring +
Disruptive and listened to each guest speaker
talk through their triumphs, failures and
everything in between.
I was a woman on fire.
For months prior, I’d been shying away from
speaking to my bosses about moving forward
in my role because I didn’t believe I was made
to go any further than I had already come.
Long story short, I had that conversation I’d
been replaying in my mind and…

5. 2016: The Love Continues
Month after month, I’d devour each issue with
the excitement I’d previously reserved for
every new Harry Potter release.
I began to recommend this inspiration piece to
everyone I knew - and it began to catch on
amongst people in my inner circle (and they’re
a tough crowd to impress!)
6. 2016: The Next Frontier
Following my promotion to Head of Social, I
was again in a place of discomfort and
uncertainty.
I had overnight, become an intrapreneur with
a team of seven that I was responsible for and
accountable to.
Again, I was seeking inspiration. Something or
someone to help me navigate the path I had
opened myself up to.
I found it in Kick, Start, Smart.
8. 2017: A Point Of Ongoing
Discussion
Collective Hub has continued to be a
source of inspiration and motivation not
only for my professional development +
growth, but for what I review within the
work that I do.
Featuring in my article Beating the Shadowy
World Of Instagram, the social presence
Collective Hub have built and maintained
has been a talking point in most of my
conversations whenever discussing a brand
to watch.
9. Words: The Greatest Source Of
Magic
With Lisa’s words this year inspiring my
piece for International Women’s Day,
which looked to highlight the words which
had pushed me beyond my own glass
ceiling and enabled me to talk myself into
the most uncomfortable, yet revolutionary
conversations I’ve ever had.
Article: Thank You, March 7 2017
11. Issue 47: Wellness + Self Love
It was then with this article that I was reminded of
wellness. A concept I’d obviously known but
somehow forgotten in my pursuit of progress.
Wellineux is what came next. I’d read about
mentorship programs and knew it would become a
real asset to my growth not only as a leader but as a
person.
What I learned inspired my piece, Listen To The Voice
That Won't Use Words, where I hoped to share a
really honest and open message on the importance
of remembering to love ourselves and what we
stand for.
12. Issue 47: Wellness x Wellineux
I’m now currently in the process of working with
Wellineux to find the right fit for my next phase.
A mentor.
13. So in short, thank you.
Thank you for paving the way. Thank you for never backing down.
And most importantly, thank you for proving that behind every successful
woman, is a tribe of other successful women who have her back.
