5. Regulatory Framework
Worldwide
•Regulatory impact is currently one of the most important factors affecting the pace of adoption of drone-powered solutions by business and government entities.
•Drone regulations have changed in recent years from being treated as a niche hobby to becoming part of regular aviation operations, to a point where national authorities have started
developing special regulatory frameworks to address the most urgent issues.
•The first country to implement all necessary sets of regulations was Poland in 2013. Thanks to the combined efforts of the civilian aviation authorities, the UAV community and
insurance companies, Poland allows both visual-line-of-sight (VLOS) and beyond-visual-line-of-sight (BVLOS) operations of commercial drones in a secure and user-friendly way. At
the global level, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), a specialised agency of the United Nations, prepares the standards and recommended practices for national and
international air navigation to ensure safe and orderly growth.
•Of the 191 ICAO members, 63 have some regulations for drones already in place; 9 states have pending regulations and 5 have temporarily banned the use of drones.

Respondents thinks
Drones are the Next Big
thing in India
Well this is a big thing, as people here in
India are considering buying drones for
various reasons already, though there has
been no strict regulations yet, but for the
companies who are trying to consider selling
drones in India, they are going to have a
very positive experience. It will generate
business for them in the coming days, and
we must not miss out.
We can explore our reach in various
categories, both commercial and industrially
Such people can be considers as the
Category advocates as they are willing to
work and demonstrate their excellence
basing the success of this industry.
We would need to identify such people
who can just not help the drones get better
technically, but someone who is well
equipped to understand the Consumers
He/she should be someone who is capable
of driving the project right from, Idea
Creation, to Deployment of the products in
their respective sectors, he/she needs to
analysis throughout the process on what
the consumers are thinking and what
should they do to go beyond their
expectation.
Well I believe this is something, we should
take positively as, only 26% might know
about the latest Drones but 77% considers
buying a drone even if they don’t know the
latest one. It shows the power of this
industry that consumers are willing to buy a
product without even knowing the latest one.
What we need to do is, deploy effective
market communication both static and
dynamic.
Which will demonstrate the real time usage
of drones in various sectors.
For Ex in Agriculture: We would need to visit
the villages and demonstrate to our farmer
brother, how drones can help in their
cultivation of better crops.

11. Conclusion, and
what we are
doing?
If we look a decade back, drones were a simple ‘flying device’ – a motor and a
propeller powered with an image recognition software, being flown around the
campus by young engineering students, is today a technology that has
unprecedented potential for Growth in Various Sector Globally-
But the Main Question is, is the Indian ecosystem ready for drones? Do we have drone-friendly Legal Environment
in the Country? Where are we comparing other countries in terms of Drone Utilization? What are the various
applications of drones in various sectors in India? Are we helping the Start ups in the same fields, how are
investors prospective on this technology?
Well according to me, answering such questions, which will help us understand how fast and how well India stands
in adoption of drone technology in the next Five years
•In India, drones-based solutions are being explored across Sector as mentioned in the report. It can also be useful
in in healthcare, drones are being utilised to carry diagnostic samples. In fact, few weeks ago, in a first of its kind
development, a drone successfully transported a single unit of blood from a remote primary health centre in
Uttarakhand’s Tehri district to a hospital’s blood bank 32 km away.
•And the interesting part was, it could the journey in 18 minutes compared to 50-60 minutes via road. Isn’t it
incredible? DRDO has also developed its own domestic UAV program. The project aims to develop a domestic
arsenal to replace and augment the existing fleet of vehicles.
•Currently, commercial drones are taking flight in India through enterprise. Zomato, currently its on news
everywhere, is one of India’s biggest foodtech firms has committed to setting up a drone-based delivery network in
the country.
•Tata Steel is working with Skylark Drones, a Bangalore-based data analytics start-up, to deploy drones at their
Noamundi iron ore mines in Jharkhand, for compliance reporting and monitoring volumetric production.
•From a global perspective, drone solutions have the high potential to replace $127 billion in current business
services and labour costs across multiple industries.
•Drones are being effectively used in agriculture sector in Netherlands helping them become second largest
exporter of agriculture produce, infrastructure development, warehousing and inventory tracking, forestry,
insurance claim inspection for buildings or larger facilities, defence space and so on.
•Companies like Amazon, Facebook, Google etc are investing over $200 Million in the use of drones for delivery
and expanding internet access, but for the most part these applications are in the testing phase.
Are drone start-ups in India flourishing? According to a research, there are 100 drone-based startups in
India (compared to 681 in the US and 129 in China), of which Only 20 percent or less are funded yet 70
percent are generating revenues and I could estimate 62% percent will break even in next 3 years.
