life through a bad
environment

you ask?

younger days…

25. I recall many
friends around
me in school
cursing and
swearing

26. Expletives in English and
Chinese dialects were…

27. Peppered into the
air every day

28. That’s how I picked up
vulgarity and probably
how…

29. I first consciously got an
inkling about immersion

30. It’s essentially the
osmosis principle at play!

Around 14 years old, I
vividly remember most of
my classmates…

34. Making the most of the
transition times between
classes by

35. Playing a game of chess
against one another

36. Not knowing how to play
the game myself and…

37. Not wanting to
be left behind…

38. Early one weekend, I
visited the library to
borrow the title

40. And believe it or not, that
very weekend…

41. I invested most
of my time…

42. Sitting in the toilet
reading the book and…

43. Learning the rules & basic
strategy of chess

44. This was followed by
a few weeks of…

47. My classmates
whenever I could

48. After some time of
consistently playing

49. I ranked 2nd in class
only to a genius from
East Malaysia

for you!

Around 17 years old, I got
REALLY interested…

52. In web scripting &
programming languages

53. And so I bought a
PHP book by Wrox

54. That was pretty expensive
and thicker than
a typical bible

55. I started immersing
myself into the contents
right away

56. And got pretty
obsessed by…

57. Practicing coding
into many late nights

58. Often only sleeping
around 3am

59. This eventually panned
out into me creating

60. Lots of websites
for myself and even
for my clients

As a quick & final
example, since my
mid to late teens…

on human nature,
psychology…

and related material

many sales calls,

professional development
organization and

to this day
