OUR HISTORY
FROM FRENCH COMPANY
TO INTEGRATED GLOBAL GROUP
Keolis is the result of more than a century of regrouping amongst French companies working
in different sectors of public transport: the automotive industry, electrical supply industry and
urban and regional transport. Over the course of the 20th century, various restructuring
operations, mergers and acquisitions took place, from which two key players emerged: VIA GTI
in urban transport; and Cariane in regional transport. In 1999, SNCF became
the leading shareholder in VIA GTI, which merged with Cariane. The new company was renamed
Keolis in 2001. SNCF has remained Keolis’ main shareholder and today owns 70% of its capital,
with Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec owning 30%.

FRANCEFRANCE
The numerous social changes that have profoundly affected our way of life
in recent years have a direct impact on public transport. In all our initiatives,
we follow five goals to better serve local authorities and passengers.
1
MEETING THE CHALLENGE
OF MASS TRANSIT
Keolis, a world leader in tramways and automated metros, and a major player in local rail
networks, brings together three fundamental qualities for the transport of the future:
expertise in network operation and maintenance, a multimodal dimension and digital
integration. These qualities allow the Group to position itself in the largest global
metropolises and to manage very high capacity transport systems.
2
REINVENTING THE BUSINESS MODEL
FOR NETWORKS
The transport business model has to adapt to the vagaries of the economic climate.
Keolis works with public transport authorities to optimise service quality on networks while
taking into account budgetary constraints. To do this, the Group employs several levers,
including restructuring ticket prices, combating fare evasion, optimising the offering
– for example with “Neolis” – or reducing the cost of investments through grouped
purchasing and mutualised solutions, for instance.

3
GIVING PRIORITY
TO CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE
Listening to passengers, understanding them, fulfilling their needs and providing them with
the best quality of service are the ultimate goals of the Group’s philosophy, “Thinking like
a passenger”. This forms the basis of all Keolis’ initiatives. Each customer is seen as an
individual, and the company’s aim is to make public transport increasingly attractive.
4
MAKING NETWORKS MORE FLUID
Thanks to decades of cumulative experience in managing integrated networks, Keolis has
perfected its understanding of the four fundamental aspects of intermodal transport:
infrastructure, ease of changes, passenger information and harmonisation of timetables
between the various transport modes. With a presence across the entire mobility chain,
including car parking, Keolis rationalises existing networks and designs those of tomorrow,
with the aim of promoting simplicity in urban travel and the attractiveness
of collective or shared transport.
5
DEVELOPING A COMMITTED
AND RESPONSIBLE APPROACH
Keolis is committed to taking on board the specific concerns of each local authority.
Its aim is to achieve balanced development of territories by favouring environmentally
friendly transport and alternative energy sources, while at the same time promoting
diversity, equality, security and safety for all.

KEY EVENTS
NEW JOINT VENTURE AND
SUBSIDIARY
Keolis officially created Keolis Danmark, a joint venture
with Nettbuss Danmark held 70 % by Keolis and 30 % by
Nettbuss. In Norway, Fjord1, joint operator of the Bergen
network, sold its share to Keolis, leading to the creation of
a new subsidiary, Keolis Norge.
EFFIA STATIONNEMENT CONTINUES
TO EXPAND
Keolis’ subsidiary won four significant car park
management contracts in 2014: Paris (Gare du Nord),
Antibes (Marineland), Nice (Hôpital Pasteur 2) and
Suresnes.
KEOLIS WINS WATERLOO LIGHT RAIL
CONTRACT
The public-private partnership contract between Grandlinq
and the Region of Waterloo will allow Keolis, currently
working on the conception and design phase, to become the
operator of this future light rail in the province of Ontario.
This is Keolis’ first light rail deal in North America.
GOLD COAST LIGHT RAIL OPENS
G: link, the new light rail in Gold Coast, was launched
following three years of construction work. It runs for
13 km with 16 stations, and links the main tourist,
economic and educational centres of the city.
KEOLIS WINS TWO IMPORTANT
CONTRACTS
By winning two major contracts, Keolis has strengthened
its position in Mass Transit. The contracts involve
operating Thameslink, Southern and Great Northern,
the largest British rail franchise, and Docklands Light
Railway, the automated London metro.
BORDEAUX RENEWS CONTRACT
WITH KEOLIS
Bordeaux Métropole (formerly La Cub), the Bordeaux
public transport authority, has signed an eight-year
contract for managing its Tbc network with Keolis,
the operator since 2009.
EXTENDING TRAMWAY LINE 1
IN LYON
Keolis brought into service the new 2.1 km section of the T1
tramway which links Confluence and Gerland, two districts
undergoing rapid growth. Four new stations were built
connecting the tramway to the metro network.
KEOLIS BUYS AUTOCARS STRIEBIG
IN ALSACE
At the end of 2014 Keolis bought the family-held company
Autocars Striebig, a prominent interurban transport
company in Alsace, confirming the Group’s intention to
develop public transport activities in this dynamic region.
SUCCESSFUL LAUNCH FOR BOSTON
SUBURBAN TRAINS
Keolis Commuter Services (KCS) took over running
Boston’s suburban train network on July 1st, 2014,
following an unprecedented effort by its teams based
there. The contract, which runs for eight years, is the
largest in North America delegated to a private operator.
A JOINT VENTURE AS GATEWAY
TO ASIAN MARKET
After three years of collaboration, Keolis and Shentong
Metro Group signed an agreement for the creation of a joint
venture, Shanghai Keolis Public Transport. This alliance will
allow the partners to respond to tenders across the region.

KEY EVENTS
NEW JOINT VENTURE AND
SUBSIDIARY
Keolis officially created Keolis Danmark, a joint venture
with Nettbuss Danmark held 70 % by Keolis and 30 % by
Nettbuss. In Norway, Fjord1, joint operator of the Bergen
network, sold its share to Keolis, leading to the creation of
a new subsidiary, Keolis Norge.
EFFIA STATIONNEMENT CONTINUES
TO EXPAND
Keolis’ subsidiary won four significant car park
management contracts in 2014: Paris (Gare du Nord),
Antibes (Marineland), Nice (Hôpital Pasteur 2) and
Suresnes.
KEOLIS WINS WATERLOO LIGHT RAIL
CONTRACT
The public-private partnership contract between Grandlinq
and the Region of Waterloo will allow Keolis, currently
working on the conception and design phase, to become the
operator of this future light rail in the province of Ontario.
This is Keolis’ first light rail deal in North America.
GOLD COAST LIGHT RAIL OPENS
G: link, the new light rail in Gold Coast, was launched
following three years of construction work. It runs for
13 km with 16 stations, and links the main tourist,
economic and educational centres of the city.
KEOLIS WINS TWO IMPORTANT
CONTRACTS
By winning two major contracts, Keolis has strengthened
its position in Mass Transit. The contracts involve
operating Thameslink, Southern and Great Northern,
the largest British rail franchise, and Docklands Light
Railway, the automated London metro.
BORDEAUX RENEWS CONTRACT
WITH KEOLIS
Bordeaux Métropole (formerly La Cub), the Bordeaux
public transport authority, has signed an eight-year
contract for managing its Tbc network with Keolis,
the operator since 2009.
EXTENDING TRAMWAY LINE 1
IN LYON
Keolis brought into service the new 2.1 km section of the T1
tramway which links Confluence and Gerland, two districts
undergoing rapid growth. Four new stations were built
connecting the tramway to the metro network.
KEOLIS BUYS AUTOCARS STRIEBIG
IN ALSACE
At the end of 2014 Keolis bought the family-held company
Autocars Striebig, a prominent interurban transport
company in Alsace, confirming the Group’s intention to
develop public transport activities in this dynamic region.
SUCCESSFUL LAUNCH FOR BOSTON
SUBURBAN TRAINS
Keolis Commuter Services (KCS) took over running
Boston’s suburban train network on July 1st, 2014,
following an unprecedented effort by its teams based
there. The contract, which runs for eight years, is the
largest in North America delegated to a private operator.
A JOINT VENTURE AS GATEWAY
TO ASIAN MARKET
After three years of collaboration, Keolis and Shentong
Metro Group signed an agreement for the creation of a joint
venture, Shanghai Keolis Public Transport. This alliance will
allow the partners to respond to tenders across the region.

Over the course of the 20th century, various restructuring operations, mergers and acquisitions took place, from which two key players emerged: VIA GTI in urban transport; and Cariane in regional transport. In 1999, SNCF became the leading shareholder in VIA GTI, which merged with Cariane. The new company was renamed Keolis in 2001. SNCF has remained Keolis’ main shareholder and today owns 70% of its capital, with Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec owning 30%. SOME RECENT DATES Keolis wins the Southeastern rail franchise in the UK with Go-Ahead. 2005 Merger with EFFIA. Renewal of urban contracts in Lyon and Lille (France). 2010 Keolis becomes 100% owner of Danish bus company City-Trafik. 2007 Buy-out of remaining share capital in Syntus (Netherlands) and Orléans Express (Canada). Establishment in Hyderabad (India). 2012 New activities in Melbourne (Australia), Washington DC (USA), Bergen (Norway), and Bordeaux (France). 2009 A year full of major events, with the renewal of Keolis’ contract in Bordeaux and the award of contracts for Boston suburban trains, London Docklands Light Railway and Thameslink, Southern and Great Northern rail franchise (UK). 2014 2006 Birth of an independent rail company in Germany with the attribution of the operating contract for Hellweg-Netz. 2011 Purchase of Tectrans in the USA (renamed Keolis Transit America). Keolis wins the Orléans urban network in France. 2008 Purchase of majority shareholding in Belgian bus company Eurobus Holding. 2013 Keolis wins the contract for the Las Vegas (United States) bus network. Launch of the KeoLife programme. 2015 Purchase of ATE, one of Australia’s main bus operators, which extends Keolis’ presence in the country.

In all our initiatives, we follow five goals to better serve local authorities and passengers. 1 MEETING THE CHALLENGE OF MASS TRANSIT Keolis, a world leader in tramways and automated metros, and a major player in local rail networks, brings together three fundamental qualities for the transport of the future: expertise in network operation and maintenance, a multimodal dimension and digital integration. These qualities allow the Group to position itself in the largest global metropolises and to manage very high capacity transport systems. 2 REINVENTING THE BUSINESS MODEL FOR NETWORKS The transport business model has to adapt to the vagaries of the economic climate. Keolis works with public transport authorities to optimise service quality on networks while taking into account budgetary constraints. To do this, the Group employs several levers, including restructuring ticket prices, combating fare evasion, optimising the offering – for example with “Neolis” – or reducing the cost of investments through grouped purchasing and mutualised solutions, for instance. OUR AMBITIONS
  • 5. COMMUNICATIONSDEPARTMENT 20,rueLePeletier 75320ParisCedex9–France Telephone:+33(0)171329000 communication@keolis.com www.keolis.com CONTACT 3 GIVING PRIORITY TO CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE Listening to passengers, understanding them, fulfilling their needs and providing them with the best quality of service are the ultimate goals of the Group’s philosophy, “Thinking like a passenger”. This forms the basis of all Keolis’ initiatives. Each customer is seen as an individual, and the company’s aim is to make public transport increasingly attractive. 4 MAKING NETWORKS MORE FLUID Thanks to decades of cumulative experience in managing integrated networks, Keolis has perfected its understanding of the four fundamental aspects of intermodal transport: infrastructure, ease of changes, passenger information and harmonisation of timetables between the various transport modes. With a presence across the entire mobility chain, including car parking, Keolis rationalises existing networks and designs those of tomorrow, with the aim of promoting simplicity in urban travel and the attractiveness of collective or shared transport. 5 DEVELOPING A COMMITTED AND RESPONSIBLE APPROACH Keolis is committed to taking on board the specific concerns of each local authority. Its aim is to achieve balanced development of territories by favouring environmentally friendly transport and alternative energy sources, while at the same time promoting diversity, equality, security and safety for all.
